call_911 10 Posted November 19, 2010 Ok so I went an bought a new pc for A2 an for nostagia purposes I thought I'd install A1 an see how everything faired. Game installs fine but won't run..(ArmA has stopped working) is all I can get it to do it acts like it wants to run as screen goes black like it loading it than that message appears. Specs... mosh 0 Posted November 19, 2010 Do you have it all patched up? It wouldn't run right, if I remember correctly, with over 2 GB RAM upon release. If that's not the case I'm not sure. call_911 10 Posted November 19, 2010 (edited) Had'nt patched yet but seems I did that on my older pc here cpl months ago an still got the same result an kinda makes me leary about either WIN7 or the DX not being compatible with A1. Will try it again on this one though as I had'nt tried it, though in the past I nvr had probs with it running without a patch. Error message details points to a dll gonna see if I can find it an replace. Gunter Severloh 4051 Posted November 20, 2010 Hmm, Im thinking it could be the 64 bit issue that has come up in the past, I think 32 bit had no problems. For me for example I have winxp 32bit, and have no issues with the game, 64 bit somehow has issues, I bleive its the same for Arma2 as well. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
call_911 10 Posted November 20, 2010 Hmm ok yeah I kinda too was a lil leary about 64 bit an ARMA1 cuz was'nt 64 bit kinda new for ArmA? Anyways guess now have to see what tech support says(if they reply) than decide if I wanna go back to 32 bit, an if'n that'll hurt gfx, performance wise for A2.
