What is a good(?) game to just shoot

I'm getting lazy, and i'd like my dear OFP comrades to pitch in to my indulgece into wasting time. I want to play MP, yet i only have 56k, so i think i'll wait for Resistance till i get back to OFP MP.

so until then, i need some mindless, gun-shooting, no brainer FPS. plz gimme an advice for it. which should i get?

How about HL CS?

That doesn't require as much "thinking" strategy but it still requires skill.

And it is still considered to be a game about "realistism" FPS counter terror game among mainstream game players.

Also, bunny hopping has been basically elminated from the game do to the fact that people were abusing it and that is not how the game makers intended the game to be played.

Basically when you jump, you land and slow down, like you are recovering from the jump. And you can't jump high anymore. They are very limited.

Yeah, IceFire's right, you can never really go wrong with half life in any of its forms. Team Fortress classic was a great mod that lots of people played. I had fun there while it lasted.

Other than that, unreal tournement, any of the quake games, Medal of honor: AA, etc.

Try the Soldiers of Fortune II demo; mindless shooting and heaps of fun online.

mohaa is good for senseless shooting if you can get past the whiners that bitch every time someone uses a sniper rifle, shotgun, rocket, or throws a grenade. renegade was just crap...i'm glad i played the demo first, might have actually bought it if i hadn't

Is HL CS available for free anywhere?

CS is, and has always been, free.

HL is a product you have to buy. Your WON ID is based on your CD key, and while you might get away with using a warez key, I wouldnt bet on it. Besides..there's enough enjoyment to be had from it for the times you want mindless action to make it worth what HL costs these days.

I know there are sites that offer free games, especially older ones, and I don't mean warez-, but commercial sites. So if someone knew of a site where HL can be found for free, this is what I'm looking for. I'm not out to get a warez version.

Im in the same boat dude, 56k sucks with mp OFP but it works great with: Tribes 1 , Tribes 2 ,Mechwarrior 4 /BK ,HL, Starseige and MOBILE FORCES demo!!!! I tend to stay away from the mindless frag'n, QUAKE type games.

Renegade works great to as there are alot of super fast servers out there, and the new air maps are alot of fun.

RTCW is boring for me , if I could do it all over again I'd never have bought that game!

well I dont know if u cant find it a free legit site for download, but If u look in used game stores or ebay or ur friends, u should find it for $5 dollars. (I did). I love Won cause its impossible accesing a game if u dont have an original cd key.

RTWC was good mp, I just got too good, so I got bored. Serious Sam is the best old skool action, really fun fun fun and no brains. You have to love it

serious sam lags too much, especially #2, on cable even with server pinging under 40 whenever the action started i was lagging all over the place. nice arcade game bad netcode
