walker 0 Posted October 27, 2010 Hi all There is a new VBS review on ARmy Rumour SErvice (ARRSE) that some may find interesting. Gaming for training. Does it work? Review by BrunoNoMedals Published on 27-10-2010 08:51 This article is as much an informative piece for our serving boys and girls, as it is a game review. It looks at Bisimulations.com commercial product Virtual Battlespace (VBS), examines its gaming heritage, and looks at how the MOD employs this gaming technology to train troops for the front line... http://www.arrse.co.uk/content/362-gaming-training-does-work.html As always follow the link for the full original text and pictures Kind Regards walker
[frl]myke 14 Posted October 27, 2010 Hehe, loved that: Most notably, they are responsible for Operation: Flashpoint (OFP; the original, not that new, gash one), Armed Assault (ArmA), and Armed Assault 2 (ArmA2).
TRexian 0 Posted October 27, 2010 hehe Well, for a start, VBS isn’t really that much fun. Far from being a source of entertainment, VBS is made specifically for training – and it’s made it be realistic. I gotta agree. :) Pretty good review, even though I think it might describe a intellectual property issue for a community mod.... anyone know if there is a community-made FRES SV mod? ;)
TomatoArden 0 Posted October 27, 2010 This is very good read! Nice to know that people have been making all sorts of addons for it for the service personel to play with!
