CarlGustaffa 4 Posted October 10, 2010 I'm going for immersion and realism, and I have functional dust goggles (image overlay, stops dust during wind causing blurred vision) in my mission. My question is; is it possible to use night vision goggles while wearing protective dust goggles in real life, or do you have to choose one or the other? I'm guessing no, but I thought I'd ask. Is it also safe to say that night vision goggles doesn't act like protective dust goggles? Meaning, do I just remove just the overlay image or both the overlay and the blur effect while wearing night vision goggles?
Marc Shepard 10 Posted October 10, 2010 Hum... Never tried but I think it's possible, if you modify your helmet, but you won't see many things...
That guy 10 Posted October 10, 2010 depending on the model, it can be possible. the standard american NV helmet mount is very adjustable, allowing for further eye relief. however, the PVS7 (NVG modeled in game) is not so welcoming of alot of eye relief, and needs to be closer to the eyes than the newer PVS14 and i guess it can come down to the model of goggles as well. some are marketed as "NV compatible!" so i would say yeah, its doable, but it wont be comfortable, and you will probably scratch the shit out of your goggle lenses :p
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted October 10, 2010 Ok, since we can't have any scratching I'll just deny the combination :) Thanks.
goose63 0 Posted October 10, 2010 most guys dont wear goggles and just use a ballistic sunnys that have changeable lens, i use M FRAMES and just change them out when the sun goes down, our NVG mounts move forward and backwards ande have a rubber cap on the rim so there is no issue of scratching the lens on your sunnys or NVG. goggles fog up too much and are too big and bulk. That guy 10 Posted October 10, 2010 but those rubber eye pieces are so damn annoying :p
