Problematic words using kbTell

Recommended Posts

Hi

During sentence buildup I find that many words won't be spoken. Stuff like RogerThat, Over, UAVTerminal, Out, Shot, LasersOn etc - no problem, but UAV, UAVs, vehicle, and aircraft won't get said.

I feel like there is something I forget to do. Anyone have any ideas?

Yep. It has to do with naming conventions not always matching the name of the ogg file :)

For example, vehicles (including people) generally start with "veh_". It's all in the dubbingradio_e.pbo in the RadioProtocol_EP1_EN.hpp file. So UAV's look like this:

veh_UAVs[] = {"DEFAULT\vehicles\UAVs.ogg"};

and thus if you set your speech[] property "veh_UAVs" it should work.

Also, just as a note, we have 5 male voices in English and Takistani (TK), and 1 female voice in English and Takistani. However the female Takistani is only basic civ phrases.

Ahh, ok, great. Whenever I've found filenames that couldn't be played directly I've used the part in that file where speech[]=... is defined. So I've basically looked it up in the wrong parts of the config.

Works like a charm. That's two main sound issues solved in one night :D
