Ofp is missing something.....

Lately iv been feeling a void while playing our beloved OFP. I cant put my finger on exactly what it is. I mean, theres always going to be SOMETHING missing, and ofcourse third party addons can ease the pain a little bit. It just feels like it could benefit from including things that so many other games have. It should be by no means a replacement, but just an addition. I dont know. I dont even know what i'm talking about. Does anyone feel the same, or did i just spam?

I am in a void. I haven't played the game in a long time. I will return to it when resistance comes out.

It just feels like something so essential is missing, and i cant figure out what. I dont know, maybe i just want the land warrior technology in OFP or something. That'd kick ass.....

We need a WAN spanning the entire northern Hemisphere and a HUGE fucker of a server. Then we do what WW2OL is trying to do, but unlike them we succeed of course

yes, these are the most important in my opinion, escpicially the better collision detedtion.

MP is definitely choppy right now. we need a dedicated server like Ex-Ronin was talking about..................I need my M-40 and laser range finder....

1: bodies that fly a bit when a bomb or satchel or explosive goes off right next to them..

2: better damage effects.. hit a tank in the side with a law.. show a big blast mark.. when tanks blow.. lose the giify blast.. how about a big gout of fire blasting from the turret and then the tank just stews for a while and goes out (while bing 30-45 min)

mostly damage, bullet marks on buildings, vehicles would be just amazing.. ambush a convoy and the after its over go look at the shot up equiptment..

yeah shot up effects would be cool...who knows maybe someone will figure out a way to make it.

maybe a flashpoint1985.com server? might be fun to run over some of you guys with a tank

I figured it out! Everythings too generalized...Bare with me here.

Sniping isnt the only thing i'm talking about, but i can use it as a perect example. The upcoming addition to the DF series will add 3 more sniper rifles. This will make 6 sniper rifles to choose from total. Little much, dont ya think? I dont. heres why. When this comes out, the sniping arsenal will consist of:

-PSG-1 (silenced)

-Barrett M82A1

-M24 SWS

-M40A1

-M40A3

-L96A1

Now, for those of us that know about guns, a lot of those look almost the same. The M24, M40A1, M40A3, and AW rifles will be almost exactly the same in the game. But heres the catch. Since you get so many choices with only subtle differences, you get to actually choose what works for you. What you feel most comfortable with.

Look at OFP. Before ultimate upgrade 3 came out, we only had one of everything. ONLY one APC, ONLY one assault rifle, ONLY one fighter bomber, and when OFP first came out, we even only had one attack helicopter.

This is where i come to the conclusion that we dont need anything different, we just need more of the same. We just need more variaty in there. We need to let the player customize themself a bit more, and really be able to make this game his\her own.

LET me have my M40A3 with laser range finder. LET all the Red heads out there have another chopper. Let them have another plane while their at it. We just need more.
