Question the community

Recommended Posts

Hi ya'll I'm new to the forum, but have been a fan of war games a long time. I'm about to get a Gamming pc with the spec to run arma2 and would like a little heads up on some info. Now I'm going to get all three installments of the arma2 series I have been researching this game and it looks great. Ok #1 wut are Mods in arma2 and wut do they do? #2 how many patches of this game are out and is it necesary to download all of them.#3 if I have all three installments of this series can I still play with my buddies that have just arma2. I would appreciate the help than you

Another question, is there site that give you the button layout of the keyboard, or if you use a x-box360 controler

I suggest you tell your buddies to get Arma2 and Arrowhead if anything Combined Ops for both...It'll be better in the long run

Welcome!

Mod= user made content or even BAF DLC. Includes everything..Gameplay changes,units,vehicles,maps/islands. There's alot around;) and keeps the game interesting and different.

You should only need the latest patch which you should be able to download from the main ArmA2 website.

You won't be able to effectively play as a soldier with a XB360 controller, mouselook/aim is far superior. Especially if you ever play multiplayer. But it should be good for driving and flying.

This should be a link to the ARMA2 manual. Lots of keyboard commands: http://store.steampowered.com/manual/33900/

This is the mission name standard for downloaded missions: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=82816

Maybe somebody can post the link to the document that tells you how to use modfolders like @slx.

Also note there is a Noob thread higher up that will answer a lot of basic questions.

Arma2 is complex but rewarding, especially if you're looking for a detailed realistic sim (with a few bugs and rough edges.)

True, but the edges are getting smoother and the bugs are not as scary!
