callihn 10 Posted September 3, 2010 I searched, no answer, I ran the M119 out of ammo, ammo truck does not appear to be of any help, so what do I need to know?
kylania 568 Posted September 3, 2010 You backed the Ammo Truck up to the gun right?
callihn 10 Posted September 3, 2010 (edited) You backed the Ammo Truck up to the gun right? Yes I did. Tested the morter and the M119 nothing happens. Edited September 3, 2010 by callihn
Bon 12 Posted September 3, 2010 Write into the M119s init line: this addEventHandler ["Fired",{(_this select 0) setVehicleAmmo 1}]; and imagine your team ordered the M119 from Hollywood, CA. At least you get rid of the problem the cannons run out of ammo. No, seriously, I have to confirm this from my side, I never managed to reload those guns using the ammo truck. Would like to know how it works, too.

00dc15 0 Posted September 3, 2010 I think I'm correct in saying, that from a scripted point of view you can just add more magazines to it's init, I added a WP magazine to a mortar & when I got in it, I had to change to it, from standard. When that ran out I changed back & fired standard rounds. Therefore that proves that they accept at least 2 magazines of different types, so far I've not tried any more combinations. I assume when people are backing ammo trucks upto them they've checked that the ammo for that weapon is in the truck, silly question but just a logical thought. Regards James The ammo has NEVER been in the trucks. The trucks also do not hold much of anything either. And lastly we know full and well how to script it, that's not the point, the question was/is how are you suppose to be able to reload them normally as a player, no point in scripting things that are already there unless your looking to change the default behavior. 00dc15 0 Posted September 4, 2010 @Callihn, Just tested in both ARMA II (No addons & without OA) & OA. 1) Trucks (US) (Ammo) have M119 HE rounds onboard. 2) Support trucks arrive when support is requested, the only thing you have to do is move the truck alongside the M119 & then when you get back in the M119 it gets reloaded. 3) Sorry but your original post said nothing about not reloading via scripts. 4) I Don't understand the later part of your post about no point in scripting things that are already there...... In answer to your revised question in your last post, there are 2 ways I see: 1) When editing the mission make sure an Ammo truck is parked just behind your M119 (as if it was in position to hitch up to it), then when you fire a round it reloads a round. 2) Call a Support truck & when the driver get's out, you get in the truck & drive it to your M119 then getout, get back in the M119. When your back in your M119 it will be reloading. Note: The only time I couldn't get this to work is if you remove the magazine from the M119 in the mission making stage (so your M119 has no rounds), then it seems the ammo truck doesn't know what to load. Also I've not tried any other round types i.e. Illum,WP etc. P.S in OA the US vehicle ammo box works if nearby Regards James
Big Dawg KS 6 Posted September 4, 2010 There's no such thing as ammo trucks not having particular ammo. It's just a global supply value that will rearm any magazine (though some ammo might cost more supply points than others).
00dc15 0 Posted September 4, 2010 @Big Dawg KS, Are didn't know that, I've never really looked at how they work, I guess that explains why if you remove the magazine before the mission starts it won't reload anything. Thanks for the info. Regards James

00dc15 0 Posted September 4, 2010 Hi, Tested with ARMAII standard USMC M119 (USMC Ammo truck) & ARMA OA U.S M119 / Mortar (US Ammo truck & US vehicle ammo box). All works fine for me, not sure whats wrong with yours, do you have OA, if so did you try the ammo crate? Regards James

All works fine for me, not sure whats wrong with yours, do you have OA, if so did you try the ammo crate? Regards James Have not tested the crate yet, mainly since we can drop crates I'm trying to find a valid reason to have the trucks. And for the life of me I can not get them to load, I'm using the old USMC trucks if that matters, I fired the ammo out of the mortors and the M119 and nothing happens when I put the truck near it and jump back in they are still empty. I am running Domination, but I can't find anything in it that would stop it. EDIT: OK, I tested in the map by itself and it worked, majic ammo, geez, so it must be something in Domination, why anyone would do something so ignorant I don't know, but it is in there somewhere so now I have to find it.
