rc101us 10 Posted August 28, 2010 So got Arma 2 and Arma 2: OA on Steam a while back. I loved the games and had no issues with them. Yesterday a patch was rolled out for it, I found out while waiting for the DLC that Arma 2:OA and CO will no longer start up at all. I've tried reinstalling, system restore, starting Steam as Admin, revalidation the files and downloading new drivers. I just got BAF hoping it would fix it but BAF is having the same hang ups. It starts to load up saying Setup step 1 and then nothing happens. Oddly vanilla old Arma 2 is working fine. Can someone help me out:? I'm running an ATI 4850 on Windows 7 64 bit with quad-core with 6 gigs of ram. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

PallaS 10 Posted August 28, 2010 me and a couple of friends can't even start up the CO nor the OA at all! it instantly gives the dialogbox "Program doesnt work anymore, searching for solutions". Onlything we seem to have in common is vista and having bought the CObundle from steam. Ive tried to defrag the files but nojoy, checked integrety and still nojoy, completely removed it and redownloaded it... guess what... NOJOY! now aparently there are plenty of vista users playing the game without probs so vista shouldnt be the prob what leaves us with only one option... STEAM! Could it be the devs of the game were so in the clouds with their heads thinking about that new BAFthing that they totaly neglected testing this patch well???? something slightly offtopic; before you bring out a new expantion you better make sure the current works properly, another thing you should considder is not to split up the community even more as it allready is so tiny, cause if you do so you will follow the same road to extinction as soo many games have done before you! I've got the same issue, OA and BAF wont launch but ArmA 2 vanilla works fine, Steam tries to launch it multiple times every second and after a while I get a message saying the game is unavailable and that I should try again later. jimm 10 Posted August 28, 2010 OA now crashes on loading with an arma 2 oa has encounterd a problem and needs to close. it was working fine before the patch. i have tried to contact steam support but have had no reply yet ,that was on friday. i have uninstalled reinstalled verified etc same thing :( Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I have to give mad props to Bohemian though they have been doing a great job of reaching out to the community and helping out. More game developers really need to take note. rc101us 10 Posted August 28, 2010 It's still not working for me. Its like a gang@#$!@ of fail. I noticed that the process for Arma 2 OA is running in the background for like a min before it shuts it self down, but no application starts up. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Dwarden 1125 Posted August 29, 2010 exit STEAM start STEAM as administrator run file integrity check on ARMA 2: OA and ARMA 2: BAF run either one of them in case of ARMA 2: CO you should run integrity check on ARMA 2 too but before starting ARMA 2:OA you must run ARMA 2 at least once (to get keys written into registry) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
