dmakatra 1 Posted August 27, 2010 Hi all, I tried to install OA the other night, but to little success. I put the DVD into the ROM, and at first, although it read the disc extremly slow, it did work and it did start installing. But it took it like two hours and it hadn't even gotten past the first file. So I cancelled the installation to see if a second try would be a bit faster. Only now the DVD ROM won't even admit that there's a disc in the tray. No autorun, no access to the disc in Explorer, no nothing. This is very weird, because I read other discs without any problems including the original Arma 2 disc. I also took it back to the store, and they managed to install it fine. I don't know what to do next really. Any suggestions would be welcome.
ProfTournesol 956 Posted August 27, 2010 Maybe you should upgrade your DVD firmware.
dmakatra 1 Posted August 27, 2010 It's already updated to the latest version.
SWAT_BigBear 0 Posted August 27, 2010 If able, explore the DVD, copy/paste it's content to your HD. Install from there.
dmakatra 1 Posted August 27, 2010 Thanks for the reply, but as I said, I can't even access the disc from windows explorer.
Pain0815 10 Posted August 27, 2010 try dvd on a friends pc or at work to make sure the disc itself is ok. If its broken you can try get a new one, if its ok you need a new dvd rom or a dvd burner
jblackrupert 14 Posted August 27, 2010 You can try removing the DVD in Control panel / System/ Hardware and redetect it.
