digitalcenturion 20 Posted August 23, 2010 Well, since OA has blessed us with the IMO quite nice town module, i was wondering whether it would be possible to use the generated towns somehow i V3, ie thru export/import objects script? I placed a town and looked in the mission.sqm file, nothing there however. So is there any other way to get the position data from the mission to use in Visitor? Figures this might speed up some quite building placing by not having to place by hand a bunch of stuff.
bad benson 1733 Posted September 22, 2010 (edited) check out world tools 1.6. you can now easily import your generated town into visitor. i didn't use the generator yet but if it is possible to save the generated stuff as mission.sqm u can make an import file for visitor out of it. then u have to add all neded objects to your p:\. extract the structures_e.pbo in the expansion\addons folder in your main arma 2 folder. copy the resulting structures_e folder into your P:\ca folder. now add all needed objects in visitor in the tools-artificial objects option. now you are ready to import the file u created in world tools from the mission.sqm. in visitor go to scripts-add/run and add the importobject script from your program files\bohemia interactive\tools2\visitor3\scripts folder. when u click on skripts after that again u can chose the import script. now open your .exp file from world tools and import. hope this makes sense. EDIT: ok i checked the module. the buildings are not saveable in a mission.sqm. so no luck. doesn't work. Edited September 22, 2010 by Bad Benson
shezan74 11 Posted September 22, 2010 Yes Benson, buildings are created randomly each time so no way to do what you say. I was already thinking this when i started work on 1.6 :)
