RazorX 10 Posted August 22, 2010 (edited) I'm new to FSM scripting and I couldn't find a very detailed tutorial, however I know the basics, the syntax and more or less how it works. I have a scripted FSM which I want to execute on a civilian unit. My problem is: I want my scripted FSM to take control of the desired unit and I don't want any native FSMs to control it. Is there a way to disable or override the native FSMs? In other words, I want the AI to be overriden by my script. Edited August 22, 2010 by RazorX
st_dux 26 Posted August 23, 2010 No :( The only way to do this is to modify the unit configs, i.e., create an addon.
RazorX 10 Posted September 2, 2010 That's what I was afraid of. Just a bunch of more work to do...
-)rStrangelove 0 Posted September 3, 2010 I'm currently trying to learn this myself. Asked around and i think ArmAIIholic and CarlGustaffa seem to know a lot about FSMs. I'd just ask them. WICT is done with custom FSMs: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1688799#post1688799
ArmAIIholic 10 Posted September 3, 2010 Now could you be more specific which type of the action you want to override? Here is fantastic example made by Xeno. There is also gorgeous tutorial An Introduction to Finite State Machines in Armed Assault by Rune of the Sinews of War mod If the link doesn't work you can find it on http://www.ofpec.com/ by searching for [ArmA] FSM Tutorial by Rune. You can always PM to send you. Now be more specific with questions, describe your problem a little bit more, so we can find some solution together. Best regards, ArmAIIholic
