Add-on Fail!!

hello all,

My problem is this. I have the steam version of ArmA OA but this does not relate to my issue....since i have ArmA2 and OA but OA is on steam i had to find the CO launcher for OA and used it to launch Arma2 and Mods

"-mod=@blah;@blah;@blah"

and everything worked fine until one day the mods stopped working...whaaa!?! for some reason the command lines in the CO launcher dont work and even mods dont work on OA!!!! now i dont know whats going on but what i can tell you is the Windows command line that launches doesn't stay up during the game any more!..it used too..when the mods worked...but now they dont....even mods that were made for OA dont work. this is weired and if you need any more information just ask

What is your command line that you do have?

Try that one above. After expansion add the semi colon and your mods.

Ive tried several different ways but i swear i cant get it to work

you should'nt need the quotes.

If you play Arma 2 you wont have quotes in there,

mine dont and my game runs with no problems

try it without the quotes

it doesn't work man.....heres the thing..i have a mod in the OA folder that i didnt add in the target box but launches!! i dont know what is going on!!!

isn't your game supposed to be pointing to the exe?

only thing I can tell you is OA is weird, and everything i told you is supposed to work,

well it works for Arma 2, and Arma and OFP its always been that way.

If anything start over, else do a major search on OA, cuz I really dont know

what to tell you, i'm not familier with OA, as I dont have it.

That is a fix for Steam users to run A2 and AO in combined ops mode. I think the OP needs to re-read the Steam thread to find solutions to this problem.

well the addon activator for Operation Arrowhead alone isnt working either! wtf is going on! lol it worked before!

i just tried a ArmA2 launcher that WAS compatible with OA and it still didn't work...dude!!!!

Your trying to use a launcher?

have you tried the mod folder method?

are you useing seperate addons together, or a whole mod you downloaded?

There should be some topics in this forum that covers what your problem is,

and TBH I'm still not exactly sure what your problem is, other then one day it works then it dont,

really dont tell us much, details are very crtical for a game like this.

If anyone is to help then list what you did, what your trying to do, how your things are setup ect.,

I'd like to help if I could but I really dont have much to go on.

i guess i could tell you what i addons i WAS running then whats happening now

i am running CO using the steam method of finding the CO launcher deep in the root files of steam, i make a shortcut of the CO launcher and add the MOD parameters

mods i was using and all of them worked

CBA

CBA OA

RTEditor

RH M4/M16 Pack Rearmed

all of these worked until one day the RH M4/M16 Pack Rearmed stopped working...so i tried a few things with no luck (please note at this time CBA, CBA OA and RTEditor still worked) so i tried completely trashing the mod parameter and starting over but before i started over i ran the game to make sure all the mods were disabled...but CBA, CBA OA and RTEditor were still running! even though i deleted the mod parameters! then i noticed my MOD enabler on OA alone was not working!! this is very confusing and i haven't got anywhere since then

Mods in a way just dont stop working, it has to either have a conflict with something else, or have things missing from them, all depends on the mod, if a mod has a config then you may have conflicts in codes and what not, and if its a bundle of addons making up a mod, then the conflict you get are incompatabilities, and function errors which in a way is the addon doing the same thing or has similer things as another addon.

I'm thinking of the possibility of the RTE real time editor having conflicts with CBA, or your RHS mod.

Doe the RH M4/M16 Pack Rearmed have a userconfig, or a config, or is addons?

i think my issue is fixed....the latest beta patch tells how they fixed some errors with addons so i downloaded it and my addons work now...go look at the change log!
