I once read that once OA came out BIS would make a patch to transfer much of the data from OA to ARMA 2 and make improvements such as FPS, etc.

Well, have they done that with patck 1.07???

Not yet with 1.07, but there is a new beta for ARMA 2 here, which brings the original game up to speed.

I believe there are still some major FPS improvements in 1.07.

I doubt the will transfer much of the data (i.e. units etc) via a patch, so if you haven't done so yet, go out and buy OA

Data? No chance, but engine improvements should also be brought into ArmA 2... as long as BIS sees it necessary I'm sure (ex: if they see most of the community is using OA, maybe they will stop updating ArmA 2).
