http://www.16thregiment.com/ Who Are We? The 16th Cavalry Regiment is an Arma community that has been around, in different iterations, since early 2011. It was originally founded as a realism unit, but has since reformed into a close-knit yet relatively lax community. The community has its foundations in as early as 2010 as a regiment for Mount and Musket. In the 16th, you can expect a friendly, respectful environment with a community without overbearing rules and regulations. If you are a player of the Arma series, and are looking for an authentic Arma experience with the benefit of a friendly community to play an assortment of games with, then the 16th Cavalry Regiment may be for you! Our Objective, Our Playstyle, Our Community The purpose of this community is to provide an authentic, realistic Arma experience without the added baggage of some 'Realism' or 'Milsim' units; rather going for a "Casual Realism" feel. We accomplish this objective by ensuring we strike a good balance between the structure and order of an established group with the relaxation of a casual community.. In-game, we prefer to have as much of a challenge as possible, meaning we rarely use powerful optics, heavy armor, etc. Outside of Arma itself, we are a close and vibrant community that will often go off to play various other games together. We encourage participation in the community above all else. We are therefore not so much an Arma unit as we are a community that plays many games together, with the Arma series as its 'anchor' game. Our Ranking Structure Within the community, members are assigned ranks based on the common US Military ranking tables. These ranks are given on various different criteria by discretion of Staff. Members are also assigned to Squads, with assigned squad leaders. These formations are mostly administrative, and we more often than not "dissolve" these structures during an Arma session proper, opting instead for roles to be given at a first-come-first-serve basis. Additionally, other than being a sign of increased responsibility and commitment, these ranks do not confer upon individuals any heightened privileged or status in the community, and all members are expected to abide by the same tactful etiquette among each other. We therefore do not enforce the ridiculous milsim practice of calling officers "Sir" when entering and leaving the channels, or any other protocol of this ilk. Arma Session Details Our Arma sessions vary widely in terms of scope and type. One session may be an Armored engagement, an Airborne invasion, or maybe even just a convoy gone wrong. We do not restrict ourselves to certain types of missions, nor do we restrict ourselves to any specific faction. Our missions are pretty spur-of-the-moment. Roles are first come first serve in each mission, with some caveats that will be explained after your joining. Primary Session: Every Saturday Session Time: 9:00 PM CST (GMT-6) Secondary Session: Tuesday Session Time: 7:30 PM CST (GMT-6) Currently discontinued as a regular thing; can be used for secondary sessions or for trainings.
