Hello everyone !!

I just finished my *OFP RESISTANCE APPLESEED MOD 1.0

i am a big fan of ghost in the shell, and i was trying to get the addons to work so i could make some missions but they just wouldn't work i was getting a .model special error and you know thats when you have too many addons, i took out a bunch of addons and still got the error. whats the deal? Oh and by the way this is the gun Motoko uses in the cartoon minus the optional silencer and grenade launcher but the basic model comes in the pack:

any plans for future characters/upgrades? Oh and check this out: Motoko with gun. Oh and another thing. Before someone made a unit with optical camo technology where they become invisible. optical camo soldier page. im thinking maybe you can incorporate it into your addons.

i updated your ghost in the shell addon so it doesn't need require appleseed but does require the weapon the one in the cartoon was based on, the fn herstal f2000.

is the gun configged and everything? if its ready to go, email it to me. check my profile for email info. btw guys by removing the weapons in the config i got the addons working but i tried adding the fn herstal f2000 addon to the config and only motoko can hold it, batou doesn't seem to be accepting the weapon, but ill keep trying.

dude noobies use rapidshare. use mediafire. hell its so small you could even email it to me. like i said. btw i also want to announce that i have a motoko with fn herstal f200 addon that comes with the girl and the gun and in game she's already armed with it. im not going to release it until i get this seburo pistol and give her that as a sidearm, then ill see if i can fix batou. for some reason when i arm him with the gun in the config he doesn't have it in game. still figuring that one out. but motoko will soon be ready to roll.

ive got an announcement to make. i want to contribute something. its my ghost in the shell update it includes batou and motoko each with seburo auto rifles. i did not include the tachikomas. if you want that do your own update. i coulda done a whole ghost in the shell pack with enemy agents and all that shit with the addons i know about but ill just release this for now. This inspires me to do a campaign.

if you wanted to get those mecha of yours walking, theres an addon that is a mecha in police colors that you should download. its called the zenith, by ocrambass. link, ocramnewmeCK4s.jpg. i did a project where i had it reskinned green. r_zenit_1s.jpg

The last time I looked at this thread there wasn't much here. But NOW look at it!

Quite a surprise!

addon? found here: I haven't tried your work out yet (very soon, like as soon as I finish downloading and installing everything!), but have you looked at incorporating features such as those found in the classic Shinobi

It enables all kinds of ninjatastic features, one of the most basic being LEANING. I hope your units can lean! :D

Also, this Vampires/Undead pack by General Barron allows for all kinds of "super" or "magical" capabilities that could be readily adjusted for your needs: http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?showthis=7007 :D

Imagine being able to fire off tiny rockets from one's shoulder's launchers as one leans around a corner. Oh yeah baby! ;)

And there's about a dozen mechs/Star Wars addons that have some nifty features scripted within them (search for "wanzer" at the site that I linked to and you'll find most of them). Odds are pretty overwhelming that they'd be useful in a mod as potentially super duper cool as this. :cool:

Now all we need are buildings that have walls that can be crashed into and caved in! Ohh... my!!!

Yeah, that Shinobi mod is a TON of fun, and being able to run up walls, super jump, be super stealthy, man, it makes me smile right now just thinking about it.

Keep in mind though, what Shinobi's designer states in the Read Me. It is VERY sensitive to one's system's performance. The whole running up walls thing can be almost impossible on some people's rigs. So, if a mission is being designed, one might not want to put up an entrance at 20 m. because a player might only be able to make it to 15 m. because of his system's setup. I'd aim for "middle" performance (whatever that is!) when it comes to pulling off tricks like this. :)

I played the missions released thus far last night. Out of all of them, the Ghost in the Shell one was the better of the two. It was pretty cool seeing those blue robotic units racing in and opening up with their machineguns.

The Appleseed mission suffered from having the player's AI squadmates being unable to navigate the busy city. It is a GREAT city visually and "fits" the Applessed universe quite well, but I'm afraid it might be too much of a challenge for the player's comrades to travel all that way to finally engage the enemy. Perhaps it would be wise to advise mission designers to setup the units closer to the intended area of conflict?

Also, are the guns on the Landmates supposed to be able to destroy the East Anti-Infantry Tank? Because I fired round after round at those things, and they didn't explode, or start smoking, or anything. They just kind of "bounced around" without ever attacking me (maybe it "was" out of commission, but without any sparks/fire/smoke, how am I to know for certain?). Also, it took a LOT of rounds from my Landmate to kill what I think are the white/gray crewmen from the Anti-Infantry tank. My AI comrades were much better able to quickly kill these guys, but the performance on my end was lousy, and I don't feel that it was because of "me." Those are HUGE rounds that the Landmates fire, and I'd assume that the crewmen, even if heavily shielded/armored, should only be able to withstand 2-3 direct hits at most, and maybe 4-5 nearby round explosions.

The FN F2000, while certainly a cool looking weapon, has major clipping issues from the 1st person perspective. It also blocks a huge amount of the screen when not in use (if I was ever to carry that thing in real life, I'd have it in the "low-ready" position most of the time). The clipping/blocking is so annoying as to take one out of the action. If there's any way to address its issues, I'd do so.

I'm happy that you've been introduced to the amazingly well crafted wanzers. It'd be awesome to be able to carry over their leg animations to all of the mecha, and their other features (using a shield to defend against munitions, smoke cover, anti-air chaff, etc.) would be amazing to see in game, if possible. There's also a very well done Samurai pack that's been released. Maybe its melee combat system could be integrated as well?

I had some confusing issues with installing the addons. Many of them had "repeat" addons inside. Terran weapons, if I recall correctly, plus a couple of more. These files were time-stamped, so I only enabled overwriting if the newer file had a more recent time-stamp on it. Including a Read Me with each unit's release could help avoid mistakes being made in regards to accidentally overwriting and/or not overwriting certain files.

And let me be the first to suggest that, in my opinion, it's perfectly alright to come up with your own mecha/powersuit designs. Your skills look more than capable enough to cook up something cool entirely on your own. If you're game, I've come up with unit designs for mods in the past, and I'd be happy to toss something your way if you'd want to give it a go and make it a 3D virtual and a runnin' 'n' gunnin' reality in good ol' OFP!
