MarineSeaknight 10 Posted July 12, 2009 (edited) The same community that brought you #1 Gametracker.com ranked servers and a teamwork-oriented, mature environment is back with the second iteration of the Armed Assault title. What is Tactical Gamer? For those of you who have not gotten the chance to visit TacticalGamer.com or play on its servers yet, I will give a brief explanation. TG is not a squad, it is an open, public community for like-minded gamers. Basically, we provide the servers, you provide the teamwork. When playing on TG servers, teamwork and maturity aren't just expected, they are a requirement. As some of my friends put it, "We try to run a tight ship which means troublemakers, lone wolves, people who do not follow their Squad Leader/Commander's instructions, all dont last long." That being said, TG welcomes all willing players to our casual gaming environment and hope that your stay on our servers is an enjoyable one. TG Server Information In-game VON (Voice Over Network) is now enabled and working well on both the TG Servers, with the help of the 58972 beta patch. Passwords to the servers are no longer available on Teamspeak, but it is encouraged that you join us on TS anyway to get the full community experience. To obtain the passwords to the servers, please make sure you are up to date with the 1.03 and 5972 beta patch by reading this and this. All TG servers are based in the United States, but offer generally good connections to our friends in Europe as well. Things to Consider Tactical Gamer is proud to be one of Dslyecxi's promoted gaming communities, as seen near the bottom of the first page of his recently published guide, Dslyecxi's ArmA2 Tactics, Techniques, & Procedures Guide - Be sure to check that out when you have the chance, if you haven't already. Lastly, TG hosts a variety of other games too that may also be worth checking out - including the already popular modification for Battlefield 2, Project Reality. Thanks for your time and we hope you'll be joining us for a mission or two soon! If you wish to talk please move to the seagull channel, or ask to be moved, as and an admin will move you. Players will be required for TeamSpeak roll call 30 minutes before step-off. We will use TeamSpeak as the primary form of communication. What not to post: "Do I have to sign up?" -- Yes you do! "It's not fair! I keep getting pushed out by Supporting Members!" -- Become One! "Can you change the date?" -- No, the date is confirmed. "Can I come late?" -- Yes and No. You may be late but you will have to wait until the mission is over and the next one starts. Usually only one mission is played depending on player numbers after the first mission ends. "I've signed-up late and am a reserve. What are my chances of getting to play?" -- Very good! Amongst the features that will be implemented are a new MEDEVAC system that expands on the existing ACE Wounds. No more magically putting back together blown up legs in the field. Now you have to stabilize the injured person, get him on a stretcher and request a MEDEVAC helicopter that will take him back to base for medical treatment. A very strong encouragement to keep your head down once the bullets gets flying. In order to create this atmosphere there is going to be run different courses up to the event. These will be familiarization courses to ACE & ACRE for all the new players, Fireteam courses to get a good sense of how a fireteam operates, leadership courses from fireteam leaders to platoon commanders as to cultivate player's leadership capabilities and navigation courses are amongst other courses. The TGU instructors and others are working on putting together up-to-date lesson plans as we speak. This is ambitious as heck, so spread the news around the forums and everywhere else of this event! Unkl 1 Posted May 26, 2012 http://www.ukrg-net.co.uk/gallery/albums/userpics/I44event-banner.jpg (120 kB) In honour of those brave men who near 68 years ago performed one of the greatest combined operations assaults to help bring an end to the German occupation of Europe. Tactical Gamer, Rusty In Places and Tour of Teamrespawn are proud to announce a month long celebration of the 1944 Normandy Landings. The actual landings took place on 6th June 1944 which was then followed by over 30 days of fighting to liberate France. Initially starting just after midnight with an airborne assault of 24,000 men from Britain, America, Canada and France, then the more famous amphibious landings plus armoured battles staged in order to divert the enemy from the real assault. To help re-enact some of these battles, we are joining forces for a month and coop gaming with vintage weapons using the I44 mod for Arma2. With custom missions provided by TG and Tour to provide a unique experience and help strengthen our communities that would make General’s Eisenhower and Montgomery proud. Agenda for June 2012 Sunday 3rd June – Airborne InsertionSunday 10th June – Armour battle or Beach landingSunday 24th June – Le Battle – a huge combined ops battle for up to 60 slots (or more) All events will be starting on the dot by 1900 GMT (2000 BST / 1500 EST) with roll call and muster starting an hour before. All events staged on a password protected TG supplied server. In game coms will be used during the mission, so communities may use their own TS3 channels. Only the I44 mod is required. TG has created a custom yml to assist with configuring your game. If you have Six Updater installed then click on the following link to launch SU & create a new preset with the allowed mods. sixupdater://six.tacticalgamer.com/tgi44/tgi44.yml Missions are to be confirmed, more info will be released closer to each event.
