    Alright then, you seem to have a solid grip on this research especially for the chapter 1 (introduction). I like the idea of your research, you want to find out how mods have a great effect on this game & its community, you want to explore how mods can turn this game into something better for its community. I admit it's pretty unique and never been done before :) well i'm a psychology b.s. and i myself used to conduct some researches on gaming behavior as well from psychology perspective :cool: you're gonna do this research based on sociology, ain't you? Sociology is related to psychology coz we're talking about humans behavior, right? What makes me really amazed is Arma community shows us a great deal of Pro-Social Behavior (voluntary behavior intended to benefit other people). Modders are willing to spend lotta times busting their ass to work on their awesome mods but in the end they always share their mods with us for free. I always wonder what underlies this Pro-Social Behavior in this community. Is it the love & passion for this game which drives them to voluntarily put lotta efforts into their mods? what motivates them to concern about the welfare of this community? Is it emphaty or altruism? damn, we can explore so many things here dude :) i wish you good luck dude ;) please keep us informed about your thesis especially your findings and conclusions...     Hi aLmAnZo :) let's say i'm your thesis advisor or thesis judge, i'm gonna ask you some questions, and you try to defense your research lol XD 1) what's the basic phenomenon of your research? 2) what's the urgency of your research? why do you have to do this research? what's the issue? 3) what's the benefit of your research? what will people (especially Arma community) get from this research? 4) what's the basic theory you use to conduct this research? 5) why are you using qualitative method (interview) instead of quantitative method (questionnaire)? good luck with the Thesis ;)

    Ruthberg's Advanced Ballistics is completely compatible with 3rd party weapon mods such as Robert Hammer's, Trixie's, Massi's, HLC, RHS, R3F, CUP, etc. :) If you want Advanced Ballistics to support your weapon mod, just contact Ruthberg. Advanced Ballistics is hands down the greatest ballistics mod ever created, the most realistic long range precision shooting simulator in the world \m/ i guarantee it's the closest thing to real life that you'll ever get in this game ;)
  4. Hi Massi, i really love your weapons especially your sniper rifles :) Could you kindly add Tac 50 to your mod? i'd really love to see that gun in Arma3. Tac 50 is one of the legendary .50 BMG long range rifles which was used by Rob Furlong to achieve his in Afghanistan \m/ he loaded his Tac 50 with the mighty 750 gr .50 BMG Hornady A-Max rounds! Damn, no wonder he could reach that far :D

    hi Ruthberg, i've just tested your .50 BMG A-Max & .416 Barrett, they're both totally awesome \m/ the A-Max is really neck and neck with .408 CT, their trajectories are very close! But .408 CT is slightly more stable in producing tight 10-shot group. According to my solvers, the exact BC of your .50 BMG A-Max & .416 Barrett are actually 1.01 and 0.755 :) I'm still using AB v2.7 though... Anyway, i wanna ask you guys a question about latest game update (v1.36) on Steam. I'm currently using the Legacy Build (v1.32) and I don't wanna download the v1.36. I wanna stick to v1.32 coz it's the best version for Advanced Ballistics. But my Arma 3 suddenly updated itself :'( Fortunately I managed to pause it by going offline and miraculously still able to play the v1.32 My Steam already downloaded 2% though and i paused it. That 2% is not written to my Arma 3 directory, right? In case my Steam keeps updating my Arma 3, is it possible for me to revert it again back to Legacy Build (v1.32)? how?
  7. dear IceBreakr, i'd really love to see huge mountainous terrain. I'm a big fan of Clafghan. That map has some nice high mountains (2300 m above the sea level) and extremely beautiful landscape! Could you kindly create some awesome mountainous maps? i would love to see great mountain range like Rocky Mountains, Alpine Mountains, & Himalayan mountains imagine we have mount Everest in this game lol XD that'd be so freaking awesome \m/

    Clafghan Map 20x20 Beta Release

    Clafghan is hands down the greatest map ever created in Arma History \m/ i just ran it on Arma 3 using A3MP and it worked perfectly awesome :D good job Minimalaco & Robster ;) is there any other map like this?

    Hi Ruthberg :) here are some more Ballistics Tables of your projectiles: M80 7.62x54mm 7.62x39mm 5.56x45mm MK318 5.45x39mm don't worry bro, all Ballistics Tables i've given you so far were made using your ammo parameters :) i converted some of your G7 drag model to G1 drag model using JBM Drag Function Conversion ;) please post these on the first page as well. @gienkov, Brisse, sttosin: Advanced Ballistics is totally the most realistic shooting simulator i've ever seen! This is the only shooting simulator that can simulate muzzle velocity variation, spin drift, & coriolis drift. This mod should be implemented into the game engine. Is there any possible way to promote this mod to BI Developers?

    Meanwhile with Ruthberg's Advanced Ballistics mod, we can use real ballistics calculators like Applied Ballistics, Shooter, JBM, EBC, etc. Seriously guys, why don't you just let AGM utilize Advanced Ballistics? fyi Advanced Ballistics is hands down the most realistic ballistics mod :) Even Ruthberg's Kestrel 4500 & AtragMX work just like the real ones.

    Hi Ruthberg, i know right now you're busy dealing with the performance issue but i just wanna help you make the additional Ballistics Tables of these projectiles: .408 CT .50 BMG A-Max .416 Barrett 338 Lapua Mag .50 BMG M33 12.7x108mm 6.5x39mm Grendel M118LR MK262 AB muzzle velocity shift has been taken into account. Cells which show #### means the projectile has reached the transonic & subsonic region (beyond its max effective range, shooters are not recommended to shoot at those ranges). To see the 10 m increment tables, just click on "Table10" i made them outta Ballistics_XLR but i checked them on JBM, Applied Ballistics, EBC, & Shooter as well, so i kinda hope you don't mind posting those tables on the first page ;)

    these are awesome & reliable commercial ballistics calculators which i use for real life shooting and for Ruthberg's Advanced Ballistics: Applied Ballistics Shooter External Ballistics Calculator Sierra Infinity 6 Ballistic: Advanced Edition they're all completely applicable to Advanced Ballistics and surprisingly a bit more accurate than his AtragMX :) or if you don't wanna spend any money, you can try some of these free ballistics calculators like: JBM Ballistics → really awesome & reliable! → really awesome & reliable! GNU Ballistics → really awesome & reliable! Strelok → this is kinda garbage though lol

    This is hands down the greatest shooting range ever :) it's the only mission i like on this game... Would you mind adding some afghanistan maps like Clafghan and Hazar Kot? i'd also love to see winter maps like Thirsk and Alpine (Aoraki)... please, that'd be wicked cool ;)

    Awesome bro, you're totally the greatest \m/ what about the 12.7x108mm (B32 API)? ain't you gonna add some BC to it? i've been searching for its BC on the net but i got nothing except that Dagger's table...0.63 sounds pretty solid for a 12.7x108mm :)

    Authentic Gameplay Modification

    with all due respect, i'm not trying to show which ballistics is the best. But your Arma3Spooter only works at sea level altitude (29.92 inhg/1013 hpa) and it has no muzzle velocity variation. No pressure & MV input in it, so the AGM ballistics has static air density (only the air temp is dynamic but it doesn't even matter much coz Air Pressure is the real deal) and the air temp is not affecting ammo temp (Muzzle Velocity). Ruthberg's has dynamic Air Pressure (it always changes due to shooters's altitude, the weather, etc) so AB air density always changes from 0 inhg - 29.92 inhg. And the coolest thing is AB can simulate Muzzle Velocity Variation (the initial bullet velocity always changes depending on the air temp). Those 2 aspects result in diverse firing solution (bullet drop & windage) depending on the atmospheric condition just like in real life. Ruthberg is insanely genius! XD until this day, i'm still wondering how the hell he could simulate dynamic air density, muzzle velocity variation, and even spin-drit & coriolis drift. That's insanely awesome!!!! please, go try that mod using real ballistics calculators and you'll be mindblown :D here's Muzzle Velocity Variation in Advanced Ballistics (he created it based on ammo powder burn rates in real life) so the MV of all projectiles will never be the same, constantly changing due to its ammo temp which corresponds to air temp. that is wicked cool!!!! No other simulator can simulate that! this is so freaking remarkable! let's say we're shooting a .408 CT with this condition: Range: 2362 m MV: 902 m/s (changes from 910 m/s due to air temp) BC: 0.970 Pressure: 948.8 hpa (28.02 inhg) temp: 15°C (59°F) humidity: 35.6% angle of firing: 2.5° Rifle Barrel twist: 1:13 Latitude: 35°N Bearing: 310°NW Advanced Ballistics = Real Life AGM's Spotter (try to input all those parameters if you can. you only got Range, angle, wind, & temp input) http://koffeinflummi.github.io/Arma3Spotter/#/ i'm not saying AGM ballistics is fake or phony. i'm just humbly saying that your AGM Ballistics needs to get improved for the sake of having extremely realistic ballistics. Don't you want your mod to have projectiles that behaves exactly like real bullets with realistic dynamic atmospheric condition ? ;) trust me, i've spent my whole life doing real precision shooting stuffs and afaik Ruthberg is the only person who could really simulate it in virtual world. The good news is he's willing to help everybody implement his ballistics into their mods. I'm just his messenger ;) or if you're still obstinate, at least tell us how to disable your AGM ballistics so we can play it with AB without having any trajectory issue ;)

    hi KoffeinFlummi, With all due respect, Advanced Ballistics was made out of REAL Ballistics Calculation. I'm a real long range shooter in real life :cool: and i swear Advanced Ballistics is the only Arma mod which uses real Ballistics Coefficient values. Until this day, i'm still amazed by how awesome Ruthberg could turn the in-game air friction coefficient into real Ballistics Coefficient :D Advanced Ballistics can be used by real shooters like me to practice before going out to actual firing range because all Ruthberg's projectiles completely resemble real life projectiles (caliber, length, weight, BC, MV, ammo temp, bullet stability, spin drift, etc). it's hands down the greatest long range shooting simulation in Arma & Precision Shooting world. I can even use my real ballistics solvers to play that mod. Here's some of my ballistics calculators that i use for real life shooting and for in-game shooting (with Advanced Ballistics) :cool: : "Shooter" and "Applied Ballistics" *notice the real Ballistics Coefficient and Drag Model up there and yes i can assure you that Advanced Ballistics = Real Life Ballistics Its Bullet Drop and Windage values (in Miliradian) are exactly like the real life. Its projectile trajectories are heavily affected by Air Density/Atmospheric condition, Muzzle Velocity variation/Ammo temp, Spin Drift, Earth Rotation, etc) :D Some of you might say, "Nahh it's to complicated, not playable, only for real snipers, bla bla". Well AGM is a mod that should emphasize realism and authenticity, right? i really love your AGM mod for its many awesome realistic features but your ballistics kinda conflicts with Ruthberg's and it ruins the trajectory :( Ruthberg said this issue can only be sorted out by implementing his Ballistics into your AGM. Ruthberg is willing to help you implement it into AGM (trust me he's a ballistics genius). But then again, i don't mean to push you, it's all up to you. I'm just hoping someday i can play those 2 mods all together ;) P.S.: Advanced Ballistics is already implemented in EricJ, Massi, RobertHammer, and Trixie's mods. Looking forward to seeing it in yours ;)
