  1. Perhaps this should be posted on the front page so we don't have people trying to throw rule books at you. Actually about to go test this out myself, not sure if it's worth deleting JSRS2 though.
  2. The Pelican is absolutely perfect the way it is. Turning it into a VTOL is going to absolutely ruin it and/or take up way too much time from the devs to get it working just right as a VTOL. Maybe way down the road it could be researched, but a lot of R&D has already gone into it from what I can tell and everyone seems to be satisfied with it except for one person. Well we can see in Reach that it's a very bulky set of armor, as opposed to the more slim H3 ODSTs. It all really depends on what style is chosen, if it's the Reach ODSTs then they need to be bulky.
  3. Problem is, we've never actually seen a pair of NVGs in the Halo universe at all. Just night vision for MJOLNIR helmets and VISR for ODSTs, and a night vision scope for the SRS99. That base plate could simply be an aesthetic addition by the artists. I don't think it really matters though, I'm not sure what alternatives to traditional NV could be given to basic units. Back to the armor variants though. Could this possibly be applied to the ODSTs as well? On the former thread, the discussion of whether the ODSTs should look like the ones from Reach or from Halo 3 was brought up but I don't know if it ever concluded. Perhaps the different regiments could also solve this issue as well. 4. Debate regarding the uniforms: Helmet attachments: Other things for consideration:
  5. Oh man, that's looking great. I do hope though we get a bigger gun on the front. Are missile pods still apart of it? I don't know if there exists a variant of the Falcon in the Halo universe with missile pods.
  6. I agree, the MA5C looks nicer. However, taking the 60 round magazine and having that play a role in the mod somehow would be cool. Not sure what role it would take with a SAW in place, but it would certainly be cool to see. Perhaps a higher caliber round fits inside to change it up a bit, as the MA5B packed a wallop. On the topic of ARs, very excited to see the MA37 make an appearance. Too many things to be excited about.
  7. That's great, I was actually going to point out that some of the army textures were a tad off. Could we get some progress shots?
  8. Ah, it's good to see the talented individuals united and hard at work producing one of the greatest mods in ArmA history. Happy day! Very excited for the initial release. I hope work on that sniper rifle hasn't stalled, I'd like to take the hats off of Innies at 2,000 yards with expensive ammunition.
  9. I'd think instead of a few developers leaving the mod permanently, that they should instead take a temporary leave of absence and collect their thoughts on any issues between developers, and resolve them professionally. There is so much talent in every single one of the developers, that I see even one member of the team leaving as a huge loss. This is one of the most ambitious mods in ArmA history, and I hope that everyone can eventually put aside their differences to realize what potential this holds.
  10. It does have theater mode, actually. Not sure if it works for the campaign though.
  11. But that was your question, you asked if it was modded Halo 3, and I told you that it was from an unmodded Halo 3 map called Sandtrap. It's not a forge piece, it's built into the map and has remain unchanged since the 360 version.
  12. No, that's a map from Halo 3's multiplayer. I believe it's Sandtrap. However I agree that the devs should try a peaceful discussion. Passive aggressiveness and avoiding the problem entirely is not a solution. What would the Master Chief do? Probably kill everyone but let's not do that. You all worked in the past, and I'm sure friendly discussions could yield a peaceful resolution where all the talent of the dev team can work in full force.
  13. So excited for the sniper. Is the bipod going to function with the new update BIS is rolling out?
  14. Conflicts in dev teams are common, but I'm sorry it had to happen to you guys. However, I'm glad that instead of everyone resulting to shit-flinging, that everyone agreed to disagree and part ways. As for the hotfix, I think I can speak for many of the people here in our community that we would rather you guys take your time with the next release. Although i wouldn't say this current patch is as broken as everyone likes to think. I myself haven't experience a single crash, and if you simply don't dig in to find the assets you're not supposed to find, then you shouldn't have much of an issue. To balance taking longer on updates, though, perhaps it would be better to keep us more in the loop. You guys used to take a lot more screenshots of what you were working on, almost on a daily basis, and it would be nice to have that again. Hell, that Elite animation video was amazing, stuff like that helps us get through long waits between updates.
  15. Under empty, there should be an 'Objects UNSC' tab, not sure of the specific name. I think it's called test or something, it's one of those objects. You'll definitely know if you found it, the thing is massive. Speaking of, is it a 1:1 scale? That's great, should go well with this mod when it's finished.
  16. I placed it on the map and set it as "Flying" and it remained stationary in the air, set at a certain altitude. However to get it to move around, I have no clue. Even in it's unfinished state, the Falcon is glorious. Great work so far, I'm going to save any critiques or bug findings I have for the next patch.
  17. Are you kidding? The work you guys produce is phenomenal, of course we're eager haha. And as usual, great work on the textures for that Falcon. Can't wait to do stealth insertions now.
  18. As if anyone's going to say no to an update. I couldn't care less if the Falcon were spray painted pink and had rainbows for exhaust, a Falcon is a Falcon my friend.
  19. Got me on that April Fools there for a minute, good one. Joking aside, that Elite thing is definitely something you guys should keep working on, even if it's not included in the base TEI mod. Aside from that, is there any way the devs could post a list of additions in the next patch in a spoiler? Assets, bug fixes, etc.
  20. Personally, I think once they get everything they want in TEI, they should start work on something with the Covenant and SPARTANs. That Elite thing is really cool, I could only imagine the type of gameplay there would be fighting those types of bad guys.
  21. Remember that time everyone thought Elites in ArmA were far fetched? I swear the devs are amazing
  22. As was I, I remember discussing this extensively. Perhaps the devs are being hush hush about it right now, but I thought it would be a really cool idea to include them since we haven't seen them in any of the games.
  23. Like many others have said, I'm sure you can include a slightly different version of it, doesn't necessarily have to be the MJOLNIR variant. It describes them as wearing typical UNSCA BDUs, so really the only work you'd have to do in constructing the unit would be the helmet and the loadout. It would be a really neat thing to see and would offer an alternative to HEV insertion.
  24. A simple drop would work I think, that would be pretty badass actually. http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/UNSC_Army_Airborne See under equipment: Airborne personnel are equipped with Ushuaia Armory's Air Assault helmet, which was developed as an improvement on the helmet worn by the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers; Pathfinders prefer the FC-I variant of the helmet.
  25. Lol that's not Halo Reach concept art, that's Halo 2 concept art. http://www.cespage.com/xbox/images/halo2wall1-1600x1200.jpg However I agree with your point and have been preaching it for a while on here, the UNSC Army Airborne used parachutes instead of HEVs and it would be neat to see them implemented in a similar fashion. I'm not sure how well ArmA would handle a Warthog with a parachute, though.
