Problem resolved. I deleted the OA folder from SteamApps\Common, and installed fresh. It downloaded properly afterwards.

I've typed up a set of background notes for a mission I am creating, using the addDiaryRecord command for each. However, none show up in the player's Notes section on the map. This here is the issue- when I reduced each note down to a single word, they all appeared properly. Is there a character limit for notes, or some other way to get around this issue?

UPDATE: I went ahead and figured out some scripting, and crafted a solution that mostly relies on the addAction and Join commands. Seems to work pretty well thus far.

I am new to the ArmA editor, and am trying to create a custom mission in which the player can recruit encountered allies. How would I go about implementing this, if it is possible? I would like something like a selectable option in the standard conversation interaction, that the player can click to place the soldier under the command. In effect, acting like a Join-type waypoint.

Where would I find these files? I've honestly never heard of 'VS Quarantine' before just now.

I'd like to second this, as I am having the exact same problem. Running STEAM as Administrator, as well as doing a few regedit tweaks that were recommended, did not solve the problem.

I purchased Combined Operations through Steam yesterday, and can run vanilla Arma II just fine. However, OA refuses to install, and the Beta (Obsolete) gives me the 'bad serial number' error message. I have tried the REGEDIT procedure, as well as verifying cache, but have had no luck so far. On OA, I install the program in Steam, and it downloads, but then does not seem to recognize that it was downloaded, as I receive no option to play the game, only to install it again.
