yep, im trying .img now. loads quicker...just 10 hrs to generate sat images lol.

why does terrain builder want 12 hours to import a 2gb.png?
it imports a 4gb .bmp in seconds.

while its not really sad seeing civilian men and women being shot, I woudnt like to see dead kids in the game.
unless they can make children and babies 'un killable'.

I used arma 3p before.
tried replacing shaders which didn't work so had to re install tools.[and arma3p again] :(

"Shaders not valid (mismatch of exe and data?)"
any fix apart from re install?

is there a flaw in TB why it wont import a heightfield even though it has the right projection?
I fancy by the time arma 3 tools are sorted well have arma4.

thanx for that terrain 50 link bushlurker.
I downloaded some terrain, imported into global mapper, changed the projection as you stated but TB still gives the 'wrong zone' message.
tried importing it into l3dt then removing the GeoRef, but after exporting it I get a smaller image! [ie it chops off a chunk of a small island]
is there a way to strip all GeoRef in global mapper?
oh before I imported into TB I moved the terrain to a new folder so it woudnt get bundled with the .prj file.

would be nice if your BI contacts gave you a yes/no ETA engine fix which could then help you to decide whether to release now or not.
would be a shame to have a 99% completed project gathering dust for months.

hmm, I think your getting to the point of saturating this map now. easily done I suspect as xcam makes placing objects so simple.
maybe its time to back off this map a little.

without these arma3 will always be empty.

you didn't tick the box 'export satellite' in TB as you generated layers.

ive been trying for ages to get a map in game. its hit or miss to get it generating layers but now im stuck in pboproject with 'packing error'!!...and binlog tells me nothing.
never been so pissed off and frustrated in my life trying this, and theres not too much help on these forums im afraid either.

maps looking first class mate. you've really re-kindled my desire to have another go at doing one now after seeing your river!
how do you put inland water on the map?
this is a must for me......bone dry maps = totally unrealistic.
