have you tried to import it with different format? .tiff .bmp .img ?

what one does it get stuck on? sat or mask? and are these both the same size?

take a look at 'world machine'. its more of a stand alone package as it does everything. I prefer its satellite output to L3DT , you also cant sculpt in WM. I done most of my sculpting in TB but that only has a small brush size, getting used to L3DT now for that part. ive been working like this... generate a terrain in WM. import it to L3DT to raise/lower large areas and sculpt a river. import it back into WM and generate a sat and normal image. what gets on my tits are the file import/export options of all 3 programs. I find ascii and .bt have the most common ground.

hi all, I'm getting the 'config- names array does not have 2 entries' error on loading arma 3. ive read this comes from the cfgsurface.hpp regarding the probability and names entries. I tried deleting all the classes one by one to find the cause but the error only stopped after i'd deleted the lot! lol heres my surfaces cfg, hopefully theres a blatant error that someone might spot. http://pastebin.com/ARYHd0qi

well the error has now gone. deleted a few objects in TB and repacked .wrp then .pbo and all is ok. :unsure: weird eh.

regarding CUP ponds. while they look ok, I see no gunshot splashes. also can I change the colour of these?

I need to add ponds now to my map. I have added CUP ponds with x-cam and while they look ok I don't see gunshot splashes. think DBO ponds might be better but I'm having trouble adding these to x-cam library. @xcam\addons\dbp_ponds.pbo isn't recognized . help please!

that 'nearly' looks good there Rof lol. does that glitch always happen in the same place? that's a large water! how many sections were placed on map? and did you use x-cam? reason I ask is TB has a snap function to join them together. not sure if x-cam has this. sorry for the usual bombardment of questions :) but I'm at the stage now where I need to add water to my map.

sorry to butt in here :unsure: which ponds would be best/easiest to use? ive installed the CUP core which has ponds or the DBO ponds? put DBO.pbo in xcam/addons folder...that doesn't show in library though. a detailed example of putting ponds on a map would be a godsend.

have you zoomed into the mask to check if the colour selected for concrete is solid? no different coloured pixels?

sculpting my terrain in bulldozer which I now want to transfer to the sat image. tried exporting 'terrain to imagery' but that only exports as a heightfield? any ideas or suggestions?

thanx for your input slim, to be honest don't think I can get into L3DT. I prefer to edit terrain in TB [pixel pulling] then export that to world machine. well, as TB only exports in ascii/xyz I have to use L3DT as a middle man!

sorry, cant help with your problem but can I ask you a Q ? :) I want to use CUP ponds too. I downloaded the CUP terrain and now have 1000 .pbo's do I have to unpbo all of these? to P: ?..and is the terrain pack correct? ooh, that's 3 Q's!

thanx for the replies :) yeah bush, I have the trial of l3dt. I exported terrain to l3dt....then exported it in .bt to worldmachine [which wont import ascii or xyz] I can then save overhead snapshot of terrain. :D TB could do with more file options apart from ascii and xyz. not impressed with l3dt sat output.

is there a way to remove this completely?? I want to see the whole terrain...don't care if It updates slowly. I'm not playing a game here...early morning misty mission. I DONT want fog!

cheers rof so the map config has total control over clutter and texture view distance. :angry: really surprised that the user cant tweak these settings. the map maker might have a old shitty pute!

bet theres an easy answer to this one, the older I get...my brain cells are rotting. I can only see my ground textures in bulldozer when I'm zoomed in close to ground. I have paths....but can only see a few yards distance. just mugged myself in another thread trying to find fog setting [ yes, its in bulldozer F1 vid settings!] this is a right nuisance as I cant see how my paths are fitting in the terrain.

thanx mate....sorted. that 'see textures' around player is a very small radius. there must be a setting somewhere? :huh:
