ArmA 3 Altis Life Constant Crashing

I have also experienced similar issues. Someone else said that deleting all the .dll files in their Arma 3 .dll folder fixed the problem for them, but it didn't work for me. It only seems to be in Altis Life as well- I've played Battle Royale and Wastelands with no issues. Tested multiple Altis Life servers to rule out that it is something specific to a server.

Really weird crashed on a single server

I'm not sure man, I don't have that much technical knowledge. I can tell you that the GPU is not its own seperate entity and that the CPU does part of the GPU's job. It's the Intel HD 4000 on board graphics chip. It doesn't seem to be a specific server so much as it seems to be Altis Life. The two servers I've tried to play on (Asylum and SealTeamSloth) have the same sort of crash though. As a reminder, I had no crashes whatsoever for the two or three hours I played Battle Royale and Wastelands last night. I mentioned this on the other post but also today I tried deleting all the Arma 3 .dll files and launching the game without checking the integrity as someone else had described. Crashed due to a D3D error which I believe is Direct X, so deleted all but directx setup and .dll in the Arma 3 directx folder and tried reinstalling it, then I got the old CTD symptoms again on low power mode. CPU temp did not exceed 58C before crashing.

    ARMA 3 Crashing

Tried deleting the .dll files and got a different error this time. After getting to the spawn selection screen on a different Altis Life server, Arma 3 crashed and I got a window saying something about a D3D error, so I guess the next step is to reinstall DirectX... sigh. edit: deleted the directx folder in arma 3 except for the directx setup file and its .dll and reinstalled directx. Same deal. Crashed a couple minutes after spawning in. Same problem. Screen goes black. Can hear game audio. This time no CTD since I was on low power mode, just crash to black screen and a message saying Arma 3 is not responsive. edit edit: another update.. tried verifying game cache integrity and logged in again. Crashed to desktop 30 seconds after spawning in to a new error, "Display driver failed and then recovered"

Well, the GPU temp is basically the CPU since it's one of those on-board chips. Speccy won't give me a temperature on it. The server in question is Asylum and does have a lot of crazy scripts on it. I've got arma3 set to real-time priority and I have tried disabled security programs already and set up arma3 as being allowed to go through firewall, if that's what you meant by the last part of your post.

    ARMA 3 Crashing

Rath, My friend had a similar hunch and we think it may or may not be the temperature. I had my Intel HD 4000 on max power setting which isn't good for a single fan cooling system. I turned it to balanced and was able to play Battle Royale and Wasteland with no problems at all. I was able to put the GPU on power-save mode and get decent frames in Battle Royale as well, but I got shit FPS in Wasteland without putting it on the medium setting. Crash free for a couple hours at least, I try Altis Life on medium power setting. CTD within a minute. Temperature was >75C on CPU via Speccy. Tried it again on low power setting. Frames seemed fine, then crashed pretty quickly to a black screen where I was still able to alt+tab but mouse unresponsive and had to ctrl+alt+dlt to get into task manager and terminate Arma 3 (which is the same outcome as before, except this time I got a black screen instead of seeing the desktop, in both cases could still hear sound)

Really weird crashed on a single server

Here is my experience. What I discovered is that I had set the power setting on my on-board Intel HD 4000 chip to max, which isn't good because I have an Intel i7 MBP running Windows natively on a partition of the HDD and the laptop only has a single fan, so it gets hot. I think the crash to desktop may be caused by excessive temperatures. Monitoring my hardware with Speccy, I saw the CPU get as hot as 85C when I was playing earlier with the max power setting and getting frequent crashes. Lowering the power setting to power-saver mode can induce low FPS depending on what game I'm playing but the temperature will rarely exceed 55C on the CPU. Playing with the GPU on balanced power enabled me to play Battle Royale and Wastelands earlier without any crashes, but when I played Altis Life Asylum I crashed within a minute of spawning. I'm about to try Altis Life on low power and turn the graphics down to see if I can play it that way. I'd rather not return the game, I was pretty stoked to play it so it was a huge letdown when I couldn't play it reliably. UPDATE: When I tried playing in power save mode, temperature of CPU did not exceed 60C but game crashed pretty quickly again. Instead of CTD, I crashed to a black screen which I could alt+tab to other things with, but mouse unresponsive and ultimately have to ctrl+alt+dlt to open task manager that way and terminate Arma 3.
  7. This is happening to me as well. It has not been specific to a server.

Really weird crashed on a single server

I am having the exact same problems and it is not specific to a server, it happens on any Altis Life server I try. Complete game breaker, I feel like I just wasted $60. What is Steam's return policy?

    ARMA 3 Crashing

Hello, Every 5-45 minutes of gameplay, Arma 3 will crash to desktop. Once it has crashed to desktop, the app continues to run but is unresponsive and I can hear sound effects from game still. Sometimes I will get a message about my graphics driver saying that it failed but recovered. Game is basically unplayable due to these random crashes. I have tried re-installing non-essential Steam files, Direct X, Microsoft .net Framework 4.5, my graphics drivers, and Battle Eye but it hasn't helped. I'm reinstalling the entirety of Arma 3 as I type this. What gives? I've read about a lot of people having this problem as far back as 2013. Symptoms reported then are identical to what I have now. When I pay $60 for a game I expect to be able to play it reliably. I don't have this issue with other games. Can someone help me out? I'm presently running Windows 7 64 bit with an Intel i7 dual-core processor, 8GB ram, and Intel HD 4000 on board graphics. ---------- Post added at 23:43 ---------- Previous post was at 23:15 ---------- Hello, Every 5-45 minutes of gameplay, Arma 3 will crash to desktop.
