Red Troop are about to deploy to Tora Bora to help weed out the remaining Taliban fighters in the region, ready for the complete withdraw of UK troops from Afghanistan, More on this to follow. We currently have a vacancy for an officer. Our hopes are to move to either Zeus or MCC for our missions, to make them less scripted, We are looking for someone to take on the role as Troop Leader, they will hold the rank of 2lt to begin with, This will mean that the boys on the ground will have to call for all support by radio, using proper coms, The role will involve co-ordination with the ground callsigns, receiving fire support, Air support and logistical support via radio, then sending the missions using ALIVE support system. Also keeping up with whats going on on the ground, receiving timely and accurate information from OP's and making decisions to carry the mission forward. Briefing and debriefing Plus overall controlling the missions from a FOB or PB. As well as one off missions we do mini campaigns. There will also be times when the troopy will be out on the ground and the tp sgt will be back at base. Prior experience in Arma is preferred, as is someone who has been in this sort of role before, however all training will be given, once selection has been passed. We are looking for someone confident in making decisions and sticking by them. Someone who can take control of a situation but is also a team player. Plus the ability to think on their feet and adapt to ever changing situations. We feel that this will be a challenging and fun role within our group. The successful candidate could be responsible for 2 to 4 different patrols on the ground with different objectives one day, then leading a raid on a Taliban stronghold in Jackals the next. We take recruits with or without experience, and new members have the choice to either attend our basic training package or dive straight into selection. Our selection course is designed to be demanding yet fun, and should take no longer than 2 weeks to complete.
