    [SP] Pilgrimage

It wasn't an airfield, it was situated on a small hill with a guard tower and a few military buildings somewhere south east. Beside that, I know arma3 has some problems with actually showing damage to vehicles, especially helicopters (not always, sometimes). So MAYBE the chopper actually took some damage from IND forces. I don't know, I'm just speculating. I can fly the helicopter just fine, but I did the inspect your vehicle after going in and getting out again of it (but that option is available for every vehicle not only damaged ones). Oh and by the way, the dude I rescued from that stronghold gets in the helicopter, and fires at things... so yea, overkill in progress from now on.

I have something to report, kind of a ... behaviour bug. I was fighting a lot of dudes just outside a stronghold (I guess stronghold's garrison) and then a chopper appeared, one of those scripted choppers. It did not shoot at all, just circled around for a while, meantime I managed to get rid of that garrison team. After that the chopper landed very close by, the crew got off and started shooting at me. I killed them and took their chopper. Question is, why was it landing in the first place? There was no damage on the chopper. The same thing happened before (another Pilgrimage version) but back then I fired a rocket at the helicopter, I though I hit it then, but now I don't think I did, the chopper simply landed like it did now. Just though I throw this here, if anyone else gets lucky like me, you can get yourself a chopper :) I should also add, in regard of the question earlier about what mods I am using, all of my addons are items, vehicles, weapons and uniforms, nothing AI related (except the now disabled bcombat).

I appologize for the "OMG FRAMEDROPS" rant. I gave it another go, this time with bcombat deactivated. It seems that somewhere along the road bcombat freaked out with your newer versions of Pilgrimage. I do not know what is changed (except your unchached groups) but that does seem to be the issue. Guess it's no more bcombat for now. I did not deactivated bcombat first time I noticed major frame loss because I always used it. Long story short, back to good framerate and running for my life moments. Thanks and good day.

I do have a lot of mods, but the only one that would make an impact would be bcombat. But I used bcombat from the beginning of Pilgrimage versions, so no change there. The only change I can think of is that I play with 100% garrisons and checkpoints. But I thought groups are cached so there should be no performance impact no matter the number of groups on the map (well sort of). I will try setting garrisons and checkpoints on default and see if there are any changes. The ambient war is great tho, as far as I could play with low fps.

Does anyone have major framedrops with the latest version (1.72)? I can run Arma3 on high with almost any number of enemies NEAR me fighting eachother (tested that in the editor, copy pasted hundreds of enemies and watched them fight eachother), but with the latest version of Pilgrimage (1.71 had this problem aswell to some extent) I get around 5-10 FPS max. And that's from the very start and lasts untill I exit the mission due to being pissed off. It's like the scripts are constantly spawning and running AI routines and whatnot. Halp!

No enemies don't fight eachother (except for one little special "bugger" that shoots at everything that moves).

NEED MOAR PILGRIMAGE! sry for caps :P Dude you should sell this mission as a standalone campaign, like standalone DayZ did with their game :)

@neofit In my first playthrough I found the body and the green marker appeard and all went well. In my second complete playthrough I also encountered this bug, but when it did (there was no marker at the church) the body was also there, I found it by luck. The mission went well after that, transported the body with a reinforced vehicle, evacuated him game over. So the body must be there in your case I guess.
  10. Do you have a custom made MODS folder inside your root arma directory? (custom I mean made by yourself or whatever). Because arma can detect addons even if they are in a folder in the root directory. Found that out the hard way and I was like Neaaah, that can't be, that's not possible.

Call me crazy but enemies have crap aim in foggy weather. At night with the fog from TPW they can't hit me if their lives depended on it (which it does). The same goes for myself to some extent (I actually had to use thermal scopes sometimes). After following Rydygier's advice and playing with crossroad checkpoints to 100% I must now sneak around like crazy, I just can't kill them all, I'm running out of ammo and med packs long before they are all dead. I believe this is how this mission was intended to be played, not rambo style, more like a survival experience. Also, Doc is useless and I always feel bad when he dies (5 to 10 minutes into the game that is).

Yes, thank you for your quick response. I've already checked JRInit.sqf a couple of days ago (looking for something else), and I know the groups per side is limited (did not know it's actually 144). When you said in your mod/mission description that there won't be too many hostiles around I thought they won't be anywhere near that hardcoded limit. It doesn't seem to be the case thought. Which is good. I am being pinned down by an AA APC (Cheetah IFV I think it's called), so my complain about the enemy numbers is irrelevant right now. Thank you again and have a good day!

Ok it's me again. I can't get enough of this mission. Started again, with loot chance and sell value set to 10%. Garrison level is 100%. I would like to know how could I edit the files to make more enemies appear? I'm not talking about thousands of them, but just a few more, in patrols or in camps. I know this mission its not supposed to be a combat experience but I fancy finding myself in "against all odds" situations where I must retreat/run away. I want this playthrough to be more... extreme, in the sense that its a very hostile and chaotic island, and I'm not supposed to be there in the first place. Sorry if this sounds demanding, it's not, I'm having a blast with this. Keep up the good work and updates please! :)
  15. These work great for Heli pilots. Put them in Heli pilot overalls and a Heli/Jet Helmet and they look amazing (granted they stay in those choppers).
