RMA= Return Merchandise Authorization

When hardware is defective you have to RMA. Unless you want to buy a new laptop....
-
If its a laptop you have to RMA the whole thing. You cant remove the other card.
-
AMD A8-3520M=APU graphics, you seem to be new if you never heard of it. Basically its AMD putting video card on CPU itself. And what you describe in your final post, the little black boxes is an indication of hardware failure, and I doubt its the APU, most likely the other card (Dedicated) you put in the PCI express slot. You need to listen to me, hardware is my profession, REMOVE the PCI express card and run the game with only the APU and see if you still have the problem, I willing to bet you wont. Which means time to RMA that video card. And no just because you see "crossfire working properly" doesn't mean anything, all its telling you is that crossfire is enabled, it has no way of knowing if your card is defective.

ArmA 3 Low-FPS (likely / possible reason)
P0ci replied to Polymath820's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Nope even with SSD there is still performance issues due to poor CPU cores utilization -
Performance is still terrible even after todays patch....

I just loaded up Zeus and joined a server to a whopping 9 fps. And this is on pretty good hardware. 8350 16gb 2400 RAM 7950 video I have these parameters set in launch options: -cpuCount=8 -exThreads=7 -maxMem=2047 -maxVram=3071 -noBenchmark -noLogs But I see no difference. Any tips on getting better frame rate? -

Yes you are correct, I thought you meant simultaneously. Hence the performance issues because the threads are "Wating in line" -

That's impossible, when it comes to multithreading its one thread per core. Only intel hyperthreading tech allows 2 threads per core, hence it simulates having twice as many cores.... -
Will we ever see a stable multiplayer running at 50-60 fps?

Are there any online servers that do not suffer from this? -

So servers use server side hit detection instead of client side hit detection? -
Properties of the GPU? You mean where it says crossfire enabled? Im not talking about that, what I mean is that if you remove the dedicated card and it happens to be defective and you only run the built in APU graphics and it doesn't crash you will have pinpointed the problem....

Are you saying its a netcode problem? Sorry programming and netcodes are not my expertise. I don't understand games like Battlefield even back in BF2 days which was single threaded CPUwise servers in no way affected a clients frame rate even with 64 players.... Same goes for BF3 and BF4 -
Swapfile is needed by a lot of appz and games despite 16 gigz of RAM. In fact most WILL crash if there is no pagefile at all
-
Hybrid crossfire? Take out the dedicated card, try running with integrated graphics for troubleshooting to make sure the card is not defective.

Can someone explain to me why and how servers affect client fps in this game? When I play campaign mode my fps is much higher then any multiplayer server I join. -

Hmm, I already posted, seems to have got deleted. Anyways yes I have that in my command line already, game still only uses 3 threads despite me specifying more In any case there seems to be a misunderstanding, I was judging multiplayer performance, yesterday I loaded up the new campaign and was getting 40- 65 fps, that a bit of an improvement despite it could be better. I guess servers influence client fps? -

Thank you for correcting my TYPO Ohh god you again, listen, every game I run including benchmarks showing my system performing like It should so no its not between chair and monitor. ANd if you knew anything BIS would NOT have to rewrite the "entire" engine. Valve mananged to add code for multithreading in their source engine and BIS could do the same. A programmer/software guy trying to talk about hardware I love it. Yes I made a mistake on confusing that cert with the high end security certs which are even better paid then your 20 years experience, and yes my 2nd thought that it was cisco...But if it makes you happy, ill have my CCNA soon.... But like I said, neither one of your certs or my certs has anything to do with optimizing performance of a game and I think wee both know that at your job if your boss catches you with a game uhh, it means trouble Btw you do know that MS changed the MSCE right? THe one now is a LOT harder then the one of yours from NT days... and fyi Im also getting that...., once im done Ill have a total of 5 certs which I wont even bother putting on resume yet due to overqualification. But yet again lets keep this on topic, Ill repeat myself certs have nothing to di with getting playable fps in ARMA. Reported for trolling -
YOu need to use a third party video card tweaker, for ati use radeon pro, negative LOD gives sharper textures while positive blurs them but increases performance. If you have NVidia you need a different tool, I cant tell you cause I haven't used NVidia since like 2010

You sure do assume a lot about me, actually im getting my certs besides the one I already have. And btw the cccnp u mention if im not mistaken is a security cert, most certainly has nothing to do with game performance. And Ill repeat myself this is not an AMD vs Intel thing, if people with i7s are complaining too then refrain from bashing on AMD, mmkkayy gg thx Ohh btw fyi my 8350 is @4.5 ghz, I can run any game I want at over 60 fps with no problem with this game being a sole exception. And since you want to talk about certs, may I ask which ones you have? Id be surprised if you even have an A+ card ---------- Post added at 19:48 ---------- Previous post was at 19:39 ---------- At this point I really could give two turds if they end up banning me. I thought this community was different. I made this post to try and get BI to at least give us some better multithreading support, heck make it use more then 3 threads, even with 4 threads the game would see an increase in performance, but instead what do I get? Insults about my CPU.... I see this forum is no different then any other forum. -
Theres a better alternative to downsampling. Its called mipmap LOD bias. Try it.....
-
SO its BIs fault? I refuse to believe that. Every game I have played since SMAA was made available begged to differ, your telling me ARMA is the ONLY one that's different? Ohh I see so now FXAA is even superior to MSAA? ROFL

SOrry where im from we don't take any shit, especially from amateurs that think they know what they are talking about. Where did I do any grammar nazing? Laugh ---------- Post added at 05:30 ---------- Previous post was at 05:29 ---------- Yes, how does it feel to not have anything better to say and be a lame ass grammar Nazi? -
Is it any different then posting n00b screenies on imgur by an amateur. Ill repeat myself yet again, Ill take hardocps word and the kotaku link I posted and MY OWN EYES over your word any day of the week. Since when does it matter what game is being mentioned, the same AA technique can be used in any game. Don't give me that shit. What you are doing is trolling period. And yes I ignore a screenshot done by an amateur you are correct. Here since you said I can copy and paste all I want, and you are too dense to see the facts let me repaste this link http://www.kotaku.com.au/2012/01/fxaa-is-old-news-smaa-is-what-you-want/ Is that the "wrong" game too? Troll

Ever hear of a grammar Nazi? Its usually what newcomers to the internet refuge in when they lost a debate...... -
No you are wrong, not all AA techniques simply "blur jaggies" only FXAA does that. I said in my first post what each one does, you wanted proof and I posted it and you still claim I have been "proven wrong multiple times" Every link I posted proved what I said as correct. Especially the hardocp one, just cause it doesn't necesarilly say FXAA destroys image quality doesn't mean you geniuses are right. Re read the article, it clearly states FXAA is like a free AA at virtually no performance cost, and that SMAA is a newer tech with similar performance benefits to FXAA but instead uses shader technology to remove the jaggies. Its ok I see this forum is no different then any other internet forum, 4 less knowledgeable flamers ganging up on one guy that actually knows what hes talking about and you all having the false illusion that you have won the debate just cause a multitude of you are "proving me wrong". That does NOT mean your right, it just means you cant debate without support from your buddies. ---------- Post added at 17:04 ---------- Previous post was at 17:02 ---------- Yes cause a bunch of forum dwelling trolls know more then Kyle at HardOCP. Congrats As for me doing it privately, wtf is that supposed to mean? To get me not to post here? What gives you the right to post bs and I have too shut my mouth? ANd fyi I already did the comparison when the technologies were realeased. I used radeonpro with both FXAA and SMAA, did my homework investigating both of them and the general consensus went along like this SSAA>MSAA>SMAA>FXAA And heres some more KNOWLEDGEABLE info for you geniuses: http://www.kotaku.com.au/2012/01/fxaa-is-old-news-smaa-is-what-you-want/ Now sit down, you just got pwned.
