Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

I think/hope everybody is talking about MP. I'm not complaining about getting 50fps in SP on ultra. I'm complaining about getting 20fps on "very low" and 500km view distance in a (30 person, no AI) MP game. It seems everybody is getting the same result. Unless that is acceptable?

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

I don't think it has that much to do with CPU/GPU. Anyone who has played the game long enough will know its a networking/server issue. You can look at the ground/ocean with 60+ players on CA #3 king of the hill servers and get 18fps. You can be in Kavala on a US #1 King of the hill server and get 45fps with 80 players on. Why would jumping on pornhub suddenly cause your FPS to go from 70fps down to 5fps? It should cause lag, but not a FPS decrease.

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

I wonder why BI hasn't yet caught on to people saying "Oh sweet, a new texture for this magazine, but I still can't play this crappy game". It has gotten pathetic. I do not care about ATM machines or a new awesome hand signal. DayZ is the same thing. New matchbox textures but zombies still wont die, run through walls, etc. If they can fix the issue of what I think is actually a "Message" issue, the game would be incredible. I've been playing since OFP, I have logged countless hours in Arma3, done my own server testing with multiple servers, etc. It seems the game is heavily dependent on message intervals. I could have 100+fps with 1 AI connected to a dedicated LAN server, and the second I create a network congestion on the Server side, the FPS tanks to 10fps because it seems like it is linear and directly related to network bandwidth, not CPU. The client side is similar, but not as dramatic. Youtube isn't really a CPU intensive application when you have an i7 with 32GB of ram. I personally believe the low CPU usage is related to Message intervals. I'm probably 100% wrong, but logging network traffic and messages seems to point in this direction.

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

I've posted earlier the biggest gain I've gotten was from overclocking the RAM/NB. Overclocking my fx8350 to 4.6ghz didn't do much..

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

Here is my take on everything. I've tried Arma3 on 3 different machines. I7 4770k, 8350, 6300. All terrible. Now, I've had other games run at 30fps and were still playable. It seems to me, and probably only me, the real killer here is a slight micro-studder, which is more apparent the longer I've played Arma3, vs other games. I've put in a ton of hours into the game, and there IS a slight micro-studder, even at 60fps. I have everything at the lowest setting to help counter this studder, yet it isn't the gpu, its something with the multi-player engine. It's almost as if the screen is being rendered at 60fps, but the objects are refreshed at about 10-20fps. This is more apparent while flying. This makes the game unplayable for me. Oh, and this is with multiple FO ISP's, 40/40Mbps. I am willing to bet this is directly related to server/client-side CPU utilization, but probably more on the server side.

I dont know how many of you are overclocking. I have searched countless hours of overclocking specs, setups, etc. Most of them say put the H/T link and NB at 2000mhz. I had set mine at those values. The motherboard defaulted to 2200/2000. Only until I realized the stock values for my chipset were 2600mhz, I went from 21fps to 40fps from that alone. Main menu; Max frames on 2000mhz were about 90 Max frames on 2600mhz were 270. Running 1866mhz memory.

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

Probably a fluke, but last night I got around 150fps, 78fps in the cities. I'm usually the one complaining about getting 15fps with everything low/disabled, view distance at 800. I kept asking if the server/game was patched, no response. The only things I did do were swap out a suddenly failed power supply, and increased my north bridge from 2200, to 2400. Either way, I played for a few hours, rebooted a few times, and the game still played perfectly. Now I come back here to find there was no fix, so I'm guessing it was indeed a fluke.

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

I just built a new system strictly for Arma3. Fx8350 16gb 1866 ram HD6850. 3x SSD I average 26fps in multiplayer. Everything is on Very low/disabled. No AA, nothing. CPU utilization is ~20%. Even tried the intel memory allocation. Every tweak in the book... Essentially, this is an unplayable game?
