  1. Man this is nice looking. Brings the game a new life. Too bad that the map is too bright. But other than that it's awesome.

    If you dont already know you can press your "scroll lock" to toggle it on or off.

    I never really noticed how bad the grey layer was until trying this, it's very noticeable, I find with my settings there maybe a bit too much yellow is it possible to tweak the colour settings from the config?

I figured out how to redress multiple factions which is great, it would be great to have an option to be able to redress without messing with the loadouts and equipment, just the ability to swap uniforms, vests, backpacks and headgear.. i get thats out of the scope for this script but it feels like almost but not quite :)


  3. The tap-to-sprint feature was a last minute addition, kind of an oh-shit-get-to-cover key, or just a temporary speed boost.

    Yeah that makes sense, havent used it in that situation yet but i imagine thats what i would want to do, haul ass so to speak, sweet!


  4. Yeah i just couldnt think of a name at the time, nothing to do with the fact that i like the terrain, thats just added bonus :)

    Not sure if the latest Sitrep has been mentioned yet but looks like there wont be any special Naval units and with it being 'based' on Fiji i wonder if the Fijian military might be represented in some way?

    • We consider the terrain to be geotypical Fiji, but it's not an exact recreation of that real-world location (it's a mix of various satellite heightmaps, so not geospecific). We'll be further discussing our motivations for this (awesome) setting later.
    • A new fixed-wing aircraft and a waterscooter will be part of the expansion. But fear not; the focus remains military. We're just not ready to reveal those vehicles, weapons and characters yet.
    • You can see work-in-progress water reflections, improved shoreline effects and enhanced overall lighting configuration. These technologies and features will arrive to everyone, and to the existing Arma 3 terrains. These are also not all features coming alongside the expansion! We'll discuss more and more as the year goes on.
    • Most of the audio is not yet from in-game recordings, but it gives an impression of how we want to push the soundscape further, especially in terms of ambient audio. The goal is to deeply immerse you in our "green hell"!
    • As the opening disclaimer points out: the terrain is still in the middle of production. Many of the objects you see in the distance are early placeholders. We're very happy that it already looks and feels this good now!

  5. Yeah, default keys are:

    CTRL+R = Autorun

    CTRL+ALT+R = Autowalk

    I kinda gave up after that, he just kept reloading :p

    anyway finally tried the pro tip for setting controls while mission is running and voila!

    CTRL+ W = Autorun

    CTRL+ALT+ W = Autowalk

    And i think its fkn great.. i love it and it feels perfect for a game like this with large terrains.

    Can the sequence from walk to sprint change from walk to jog to sprint?

    And im all for auto follow and if i could throw in again the ability to auto walk to waypoint created in map and any other feature that suits lol :rolleyes:

    Correct, i imagine they probably already had a road map in place, i.e. the dlcs and expansion etc, its not like they released the game and twiddle thumbs with nothing to do... seems like i see updates nearly every other day on dev branch, always a slow burn with Arma :)

I love Altis also, hell I still like making missions on Stratis.. the domes are one of my favourite buildings and are a very distinct feature that fits the scene nicely and in terms of gameplay I.e. Shooting, the terrain is mostly nicely broken up, maybe a bit ahead of it's time in terms of size relating to performance for the average user?

    As mentioned the CSAT helmets and alien wear is just too over the top for the rest of the setting, also the FIA could have been fleshed out a bit more, surely there's opportunity for DLC packs in the future to give more life to the setting... Even a civilian vehicle pack could give the place a bit more life, also more variety in clothing for civilian and military.

I'd love to see something more unconventional in terms of factions, I know it can never happen but personally I'm bored to death with ole Boris and Billy joe and with a setting like this it would be a great opportunity to see something similar on the lines of Ice Breakers factions for Lingor as in some South American inspired factions.. Something different, just not CSAT alien different.

    I'm assuming your CBA folder matches the one in the mod path above, right?

    Edit: just did a quick test.

    All works OK here.

    Because of the way the keybind system works, you may need to be in a mission or editor session to see the addon in the configure list.

    Failing that, please pm me your rpt file. I'm not on dev branch so it could be related.

    Ok cheers Ill try that out, yep path is same and I didn't realize sometimes you need to be in mission to configure so will try it all out, thanks :)
