Hello, with this thread I announce a project. The full name is "Life of a pilot" and means in short i want more advanced helicopters and their controls. Im pretty new to modding as a whole topic, but i do work as a graphicdesigner in realworld. That means i wont have any problems with the creative part but the coding/scitping/function will be a pain in the arse. Im doing right now the equipment which translates into towing-tractors, starter-units,hydraulic units and some other stuff. The first model i finish is the A/S32A-31a tow tractor. My mod will be in 2035 so normally this vehicle would be a long time out of service, but i do this vehicle for possible other mods (nimitz and other jet mods) too. The next vehicle is the A/S32A-32 tow tractor. Im yet not sure which helicopter i choose but im willing to do atleast two choppers in max detail. So if anyone has a suggestion, please post it in this thread. When you know "realworld"-pilots which would work together on documentation that would be even better. I would love to see some suggestion/ideas from the community since i enjoy the "love" in the arma gaming-community. This mod is not limited to military choppers. I would even prefer civilian helicopters since i was a "simcopter"-fanboy and enjoyed that playstyle too. Every helicopter would be possible. I will post updates from models/textures or whatever in this thread as i progress.....so if is there a update, everyone can read about it. Im aprticipating in other mods too so please dont write "any news?". I stay dedicated to this project (LOAP) and wont leave it.

Hi, short question. Are the bigger planes required to use a tow tractor? If so which tow tractor is it? I could possibly help out with that kind of stuff. I work on LOAP and create a MD-3 tow tractor at the moment. When you could use a tow tractor or so....tell me which and i will consider workin on it. Peace edit: just saw that post about a "master texturer" for your planes. When you have the uv cuts ready, i could spend some time on them. Dont call me master texturer but i work as graphicdesigner and did some nice textures allready. -

Im involved in a other mods and the plan is when i finish on of that specific mods that i get help from one of the coders for atleast one vehicle on my end. On the other hand i learned everything i know about software regarding design myself so im pretty sure i can do that too :) You can only do as much as you allow yourself due to your imagination/knowledge. I think this topic wont be such a problem. The only problem is the pure amount of knowledge for each seperate vehicle and their functions. Thats the reason why i let the community decide the helicopters since i would prefer to get first hand knowledge of a chopper cockpit rather than all out of books and videos which i do for the other mods. edit: but thanks for your reply and its true what you suggest that i shouldnt overload myself.

Im doing a highpoly MD-3 (A/S32A-31A) tow tractor [with starting unti & without] at the moment and will do a A/S32A-32 afterwards. I plan to do a russian tow tractor too.... I allready offered some work to the op but he never answered. I make/made this vehicles solely for my helicopter mod but since there are many other mods which could use the vehicles i would be glad to help out there with a release for the tow-vehicles seperate from my helicopter mod. When anyone wants to help/share/ask or whatever.....just ask :) Since most people dont even say "no" anymore, i dont ask any other modcreators if they could use some stuff from myself, but i would be glad to help Peral, Tetet or anyone else out.... Sharing and caring. -

Offered help over reddit and you didnt answered, so i guess that sentence with "Notes: If anyone understands the effect of wind on helicopters, and would like to help bring more realism to the wind simulation, please let me know. Yeah sounds about right. That sounds could be from a mod or from somewhere else and he got no clue, but i tried to inform him befor he gets into trouble. Like you i would enjoy a Kiowa. Hope everything is cleared up in the near future and the creator can release his stuff here.

I will not make the effort to install bfbc2 again and extract the sound files but why not show us your youtube video? Even with that video it would be the same....you arent the author of this audiofiles. But its still BFBC2 audio files....no need to lie about it, buddy. Just remove the audiofiles and everything is cool. (if anyone has BFBC2 installed, just sit inside the apache or uav from the americans. there is a background radioshatter and this files are from there) Peace

Its not about my musical taste, but ripping content from other games/persons indicates there could be more stolen and its not a fine way to show of some work. Thats why i give the friendly hint of changing it before it gets big or anything. Its not a insult or anything else. Its a advice from my point of view and im pretty sure many here share it. §19) Posting addon/mod other content without permission ...it's not acceptable to edit someone's work without permission and then to post screenshots of it on the forums (even if the edited addon/mod is purely for personal use), it's also not acceptable to edit someone's work, or use someone's work in any way that you don't have permission for and then to create videos which you post on these forums, doing any of the above without the permission of the original creators risks a permanent ban, for individuals, for whole mod teams or squads.

Hi. Like the Idea but not the video. Could you please remove the battlefield bad company 2 uav audio files? Its just akward when you see something about user created content and there is something ripped from battlefield. i do understand the problem for immersive radioshatter but please remove it. Other than that.....awesome model. Hope to see more in the future

Many thanks to both, but again a new problem. Downloaded said 32 bit version and now i get the error message The procedureovulationpoint "?io_WriteFile@BisFileIO@@QAEHPBDPBXI@Z" was not found in the DLL "DePbo.dll". I dont know what i do wrong. I followed the link in the readme and it was the 64 bit exe. Ok that was my mistake but i dont understand why it isnt running now. Would anyone of you two be kind enough to make a explanation how they got it running? means could u create a list with steps? I feel a bit ashamed that i look like a idiot and still need help. I hope it isnt to much. -

1. So i downloaded the last dep3d.exe and installed it in a program files (x86)/dep3d/ folder 2. Dowloaded the pebpoXX.rar and place one depbo.dll in my windows/system32 folder and one in my arma3tools/dep3d folder 3. In "ReadMe.VS2012dlls.txt." is a download link for all vs2012 dll's so i downloaded it. 4. i try to open the dep3d.exe and again it throws the error The program can not be started, cause MSVCP110.dll. is missing on the computer. install this program again to resolve this isssue this is a rough translation cause the text is in german Thanks for patience man. -

Im not sure if the mortar would need a unit/gunner, either im sure if the mortar would have to turn with the turret. Means when i point on the map in the artillery computer and then press "fire" would the mortar turn in the world or would it stay the direction i got into the gunner position? But this wouldnt be a major problem, cause im not sure if i would have to attach a mortar. When i would be able to just add a artillery computer like a uav computer in action menu and could relate with said computer to the mortar i could hide the mortar and just add a particle effect everytime the morar shots. -

I heard about the feature that the merkava has a buildin mortar. Sounds easy i thought :) So i placed a Slammer in editor, attached a mortar to it and disabled damage/simultion of said mortar. After that i encountered two major problems. First Problems: Memory points of the Slammer [ so the mortar turns with the mainturret ] I tried that list with czech memory point names but i got only three of them working. one of them was as "usti hlavne" With that memory point i get the mortar turning with the turret but its a 3d oval and not a 2d circle. So i need the memory points of said vehicle. I tried the tool "memrpt" but i wasnt able to get it workin. It throws errors. How do u read memory points or does anyone allready know all memorypoint of the slammer? Second Problem: [add artillery computer to other unit] AddAction "artillerycomputer" for the commander. Im aware how i add a action to specific cargoslot and so on, but i cant add artilery computer of said mortar to the commander or any other vehiclecargo. How could i add the "artillerycomputer " to the action menu of a different unit when said unit is not in gunner position of the mortar ? The only info i was able to find was... Sorry gnat when u missunderstand what im doing or what i intend to do. I want Memory Points of Vehicles since i want to add an Mortar to the Slammer and some other stuff' date=' which currently tanks and specially tanks in the future will have. edit: link to said problem Link I hope u see i tried my best and i cant go any further with my current skill and thats why i asked for help with memrpt first cause it just write a list of memorypoints and nothing else. i dont want to reverse engineer ;) -

thanks man. edit: im still dont get it running. i had allready place the depbo.dll in my system32 and a second copy in my install folder of dep3d.exe but i didnt read that second readme with that text These 32bit dll's are already supplied in win8. They are necessary attachments for depbo.dll > 4.09 Earlier versions of the OS generally dont have them, depending on which other applications you have installed on your PC. I absolutely refuse to supply each of my 30+ exes with footprints of around 50kb with this 8meg!!!! payload. Instead, this is a one off package necessary to run *some* exes (particularly the guis), on *some* PC's http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=30679 you need the >>>>>>>>32 BIT<<<<<<<< VERSIONS Downloaded that file, installed and still the same error. i tried to download a older dep3d.exe and a different depbo.dll still not working. Yeah thanks for the answer. I tried to download it. First it says in the Installer.exe u need a depbo.dll from somewhere else. Install is fnished and when i start now this app it tells me i need a MSVCP110.dll and quits. Tried to download that file from LINK but still quits. any idea? Would like to know a short explanation for this. i cant found a report for this app in relation with that error message -

Sorry when i go offtopic, but that is allready in vanilla arma 3. Disable the mod, disable trackir, place a littlebird in editor, get in as pilot and hold "ctrg" and now press once "e" or "q". When u do that u have different lean stances.....and there is a zero value. I encountered that problem cause "decrease thrust" is on ctrg on my keyboard so everytime i try to land i leaned out of my bird :D got it fixed but that was really annoying..... hope i was able to help -

Just a Suggestion, but wouldnt it be more usefull if u create a "new" island and don call it "Isla Duala" ? cause i guess there could be some missunderstanding about what is what regarding the size of the map an other buildings and so on. Beside that.....the project sounds nice :) Are there any solution for underwater objects? means could u create a nice looking underwater world too or would that take to much time? hopefully we see soon a new island. -

dont be so harsh :) Some people are new to the whole community around arma and propably dont understand that sharing is caring ;) Im new to scripting too but im a old flashpoint gamer and know about the awesome community that surrounds the arma francchise. I could "steal" a script too and with easy work it would look completly different and i could say its "my script". But thats not what i want to do and im propably sure he just doesnt want to share too. I know some people like him too.....its shame but we cant change anything except writing a better scriptand point with a finger on them ;) i wrote him a pm too and asked for the code to check how it works and so on......i never recieved a answer
