  1. Excellent, thanks for pointing me in the right direction lexx.
  2. Hey guys, In the Apex Protocol campaign I noticed the sideChat used was quite different to that used in the main Arma 3 campaign and most custom missions on the workshop. This can be seen in the example picture at the following link (note: sideChat in the image is taken from opening mission of Apex Protocol so very minor spoiler): http://imgur.com/lOK1xa8 I personally prefer this new look for radio talk and think it's also easier to ensure players catch every message, especially if there's no voice recording in the mission. I'm wondering if anyone knows the specific method used to achieve this look? I'm personally suspecting that it's not actually sideChat, but instead a title made to look like sideChat. However I wanted to check in case there is a method I'm not familiar with to make sideChat appear similar to this. Bonus points if you can provide a template to use to recreate the look, but I'd be happy just being pointed in the right direction too. Thanks in advance and apologies if it's a duplicate question (I attempted to look for anyone else asking the same question but came up empty).
  3. Also wanting to add my voice to those disappointed with the new campaign in regards to playing it solo. I completely understand the rebuttal that it's a co-op campaign primarily, however I think many of us were hoping for the ability to play it in solo similar to Harvest Red (as in without having to fight alone when playing it in single player). I love the missions, but it just feels silly to be in a fire team on your own in these kind of missions. Like others have mentioned, I want an AI squad and the ability to save. I've become used to Arma's AI commanding system to the point where I'm actually quite fond of it (sure it has problems, but for the most part I have few problems working it). I saw the video posted much earlier in this thread where frogglyluv had added a few AI teammates to the first mission. That looked fantastic and is exactly what I want to play. It's probably too late and judging by the developer posts here it seems unlikely it's going to change, but I wanted to voice my opinion too in the hopes to help influence future Arma co-op campaigns.
  4. Haha, I love it! All else fails I'm going for this. Thanks mate.
  5. Hi kydoimos, I followed your advice you posted in this thread and got the game logic following the unitPath with the Blackfish attached. I can get the landing gear working, but only if I have the player set as the pilot. Do you know if it's possible to have the landing gear lower with the player riding as a passenger in the back? I could always turn my Blackfish insertion into a cutscene where I switch the player in as the pilot and then back to a passenger once the cutscene concludes, but ideally I'd like to have the scene play outside of a cutscene. Thanks mate.

    M-900 Texture

You're an absolute legend. I found the texture I needed in there, and not only that but I'm really happy that such a pack full of the vehicle textures exists. Thanks so much audiocustoms! :)
  7. I wanted to create a custom texture for the civilian helicopter (the M-900) by editing one of the current ones (the blue strip version) to put a custom logo on it for a mission I'm creating. I found the .paa file for the skin (located at: \a3\air_f\Heli_Light_01\Data\Skins\heli_light_01_ext_blueline_co.paa) and tried to open it with Texview 2 but received the 'unable to open file' error. Does anyone know if I am trying to open the correct texture file? If so, is there another way to open it or does anyone have a copy in an editable format I could use? If I'm trying to open the wrong texture file I would love to be pointed in the right direction if you know it. Thanks in advance for any help :)

    Rate the second episode!

I had this problem too. Overall I gave the mission 7/10. The campaign in this game has had me hooked a lot more than other Arma campaigns. I dropped the score on this episode a little though because of AI problems in some missions (the ambush springs to mind straight away). Sometimes getting the AI to do simple things can be extremely difficult, and being in command can sometimes reveal this. Just some improvements in AI responsiveness would be great. Patrol missions solo did seem a bit weird, especially considering just how easy it would be to give you a squad and car to assist and speed it up a bit (I was glad for the extra content they offered, but it dragged out a bit long doing it solo and seemed quite unrealistic for a single person to be taking out entire patrols of trained soldiers). Having said all that I think the pros outweigh the cons for this one, and I'm still looking forward to the third episode.

    [SP] mission Rookie

One of the coolest missions so far. Short, but brilliant.
