Anyone know how to do a config.cpp for units in a vehicle? The example on the Bohemia Wiki does not have the section filled out. https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ArmA_3_Replacement_Config_Tutorial. All help is appreciated.

Awesome mate.FYI there's All in Arma Standalone Lite on Play with Six that's only about 2-3 gigs. Sacrifices high res textures but should be great for developement purposes.

Id second this suggestion for BDU's and DCU's instead of Navy AOR's.How about some optional configs to crew community-made ones like RichardD's Humvee pack, and perhaps AiA US Army vehicles?
I would like to add some optional configs for community made ones, like the one you suggested, I dont think I will for AiA vehicles because I don't have any of the previous Arma's, and the AiA SA is too large for me to download.
I will have a look at the Humvee pack, but again I need to first figure out how to place units in a vehicle through the config.cpp file. If anyone knows how to do that, any help is appreciated.

Hey Marc, just in case you missed my question a few posts back.I have really no experience porting over anything from A2 so unless I learn how to, I wont be porting anything over.
I do plan on putting my units inside some of the standard vehicles, once I figure out how to do that.

Great units and thanks for the release. I have always been a big fan of Craig's uniforms, so it's a pleasure to see someone incorporate them into an addon.I think the Navy camo's look great, but as stated they are Navy, and I feel are a bit out of place for U.S. Army inspired units (especially with the Navy patch on their arm :p). I think a more suiting desert and woodland camo for U.S. Army units would be standard woodland and Tri-Color Desert BDU's, as these can still be commonly seen within the Army's special operations community. Once again, no big deal what-so-ever, love the units either way and figured I would chip in my two-cent.
Yeah its one of my pet peeves for this mod so far, the only problem is that the US Marine uniforms in Craigs pack I feel are too pink, also the Tricolor camo was used in the 1990's, so it did not suit the look I was going for (Primarily Marpat camo). So unless he changes them in the future, I might have to stick with these ones, unless I can figure out how to change the uniforms name, which I dont think would be that hard, but then I would have to ask Craig for his permission.

Suggestion - I'd remove the Kevlar Helmet you added and go back to the default MICH/ACH, which is what is currently issued.We haven't worn those old-school PASGT Helmets in over a decade.
Alright I'll have a look and see how they look because the only real reason why I have used those PASGT helmets is because they have the matching camo with the uniform, but I will see how they look.

Sometimes they took a little bit. You figure out the units in the vehicle issue?Havent looked at it yet, but most of the groups are done.

If someone could try to get in contact with one of the Play with Six admins, because my mod on Play with Six has the wrong rh_m4 pack, so its not working. I have tried messaging them, and posting on forums, but haven't received a response yet. Thanks

I'm not sure what you meant by that.It's best to set it up like the default nato groups. Essentially just replace Nato infantry with yours. Might have to change unit numbers in squads but for the most part it should be the same.
The only reason I ask to add placeholder vehicles (ie, just nato stuff) is because it makes alive able to use a whole army rather then just your infantry units
Yeah I have added some groups for testing and they are working so now I am going to find out how to spawn units in vehicles then I can save those in there aswell so Alive will be able to use those as well like you said.
So once I get Play withSix squared away and everything is working perfect in game, then I should have an update with all of these features in it. If all goes well I would expect it sometime next week.

It's a suggestion, no need to be rude. I make mods myself, I was just saying the AV units looks, a LOT better.I did not model any of these units, all of the uniforms and player clothes are from the US Pack by Craig, and the weapons are from the RH_M4/M16 pack, I just simply made them into playable units.

I'm not sure if you know or not, but the woodland and desert camo is actually marine's MARPAT and desert MARPAT, which means, they're not ARMY... but then again, it's just a minor thing.Yeah I know, also the Desert camo is Navy Arid II, which is a navy camo, but the desert digital camo used by the Marines in the pack just didn't give the right look for me so I went with the Navy Arid which I think looks alot more like the standard desert camo at the moment.
Back to the other camos, I couldn't do anything about the Marine camos because that's just the way they are named in the US pack so unfortunately I cant change that but its not that big of a deal.

This compatible with ALiVE?If it isn't already, would you make it so and add placeholders for groups that aren't already made (ie, helicopters, tanks, ect)?

Just tried them out and they are easily my favorite units now. One thing I dislike about a lot of unit modifications (my personal opinion, no insult to the makers) is the lack of "bulk" to the units. They typically don't have near the amount of equipment that most infantry carry on them. These guys are perfect though. My unit will def be using these if you make it compatible with ALiVE. Like I said, placeholders for vehicles and aircraft would be nice, so the units can spawn a whole army. I wouldn't add the recon to ALiVE though, as it doesn't really handle special forces. Again, thanks man!
I'm not sure how to make them compatible with Alive, but I will have a chat with the Alive guys and see if we can work something out.
I'm glad that you like the units, and yeah I will have a look at making it Alive compatible, I think that would open it to a larger audience as well.

I think you may have linked the RH_m4 pack from Arma 2 because my mod is not working. to add to EvanCat's post, a replacement config is a file that overrides in-game files, you just define a new path to unit/item models for the respective units/items you want changed.you pack your file as a pbo along with all the needed models, launch the game with it activated as a mod, and your items in the game have different models, but only visible to you. so it's clientside only, and people don't have to have it to be able to play with you on the same server

I will look at including it later, along with other options such as RH Pistols, and BTC weapons, but for now I'm going to keep it like this.

Known Errors:

This addon was never meant to be 100% accurate because I had to work within my limits of the mods I was using. Therefore the loadouts are not going to be perfect, and nor is the camo or vests going to be the ones used in real life.

Quick question: Are you guys looking to 'mimic' ACE with future updates, or are you staying with your own features?
By mimic ACE, I am referring to using ACE features to create features to use in CSE, such as Mortar improvements, and various other common ACE features.

;2724236']and what Ckrauslo means is that Craig uses retextures of vanilla assets, while AV IndUS has vests and other assets modelled to represent current US gear... but I think his work is fair enough (RHS and SOC mods will bring all in depth and detail we need... later!)Yeah I understands what he means. I am also really looking forward to RHS AFRF and USF. I think those both will complete the game in my opinion.

Sounds like a mission. Well good luck and if you accomplish this task, you will go down as one of the ArmA greats. I'm pretty sure there were some LHD's in Arma 2 that had working well doors, so maybe having a look at them would prove useful. Again good luck.
