Need more information on the crashes to be able to help you. Let us know exactly when crashes are happening (IE in the menu, in game, if its only in multiplayer etc), what happens when you crash (IE do you BSOD, Arma just quits out with no message, Arma3.exe has stopped working, etc). Just saying you are crashing with practically no information will just lead to this post being ignored. Also include .rpt files of the crashes if you can.

Aaand thats exactly why I didn't respond initially :p That is kind important to let people know that you are overclocking your system when troubleshooting. Anyways, glad you got it fixed Cyclone!

Improved Fatigue System
flyinpenguin replied to flyinpenguin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Yep, exactly why I made this mod ;) Sorry about the wait though, I actually have had almost zero time to be able to work on it. Which is sad in a way because all I need is about 3 hours of free time and I can guarantee that I can push out an update. Hopefully I can have time for that today. -
Their issue is completely different Dragon, so unfortunately, that fix will not work. I cannot troubleshoot their issue through forums which is why I have not responded to them. BSOD is a completely different issue that is likely hardware or software based. I would have to have access to their computer to be able to fix it which I am not willing to do.

I have these same issues, certain objects will have glitched shadows. This happens only for 'low' shadow settings for me. It will not happen on standard and above. Hope it helps!
-
My sincere apologies Raid. I assumed too much in your other post.
-
ah. Well he has said he can't model one himself, so he needs someone to model it for him.
-
You have a custom modeled version of a M1A3 variant? Awesome!

Ooo, looking sexier all the time ;)

Current Plans for disabled vehicles Wheeled: Disable Engine Tracked: Disable Engine Disable or harm the turret (because tanks have manual turret traverse systems) Helicopter: Disable Engine Disable Instruments Fixed Wing: Disable Hull enough to turn off engine (Probably will be the most awkward since fixed wing is implemented horribly) All will be dependent on distance and type. IE, less damage on the fringes of EMP range

@Damian90 Thank you for some cool info Damian90! We are currently discussing exactly what will be affected and how it will be affected. We will take the info into consideration while we are deciding. And yes we are planning on different ranges. IE, the satchel may be larger than the mine. As for the disabling GPS's, lights, lasers, certain optics, rangefinders; yes we are thinking about this. However, early versions will be crude. Like removing the GPS or rangefinder from the player's inventory. Down the road, we will try to make the GPS display a black screen, ACO sight without the reticle, etc. @byohzrd Thats an interesting type of EMP. We may implement this type in the future, but for now we are just sticking with getting a working version. Once that is done, we will worry about perfecting it. So its too early to say, yes we are doing that. But we will add it to our list of features we are considering!

N'Ziwasogo A3 terrain (Released)
flyinpenguin replied to makhno's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Im going to say either Lake Victoria, Lake Volta, or Lake Nasser I can't pinpoint exactly where or which one though. -
Ah, thats unfortunate Cyclone. Thanks for letting me know. Im not sure if I can do anything else in way of trouble shooting. It seems its beyond me.

flyinpenguin replied to makhno's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
That would be interesting. -
Yeah, its pretty much a ghost issue. I have had people use just malloc system and it works fine 100% so far. The max mem has only worked about 20% of the time :/

Player x kicked off, Steam ticket check failed: (null)
flyinpenguin replied to farooqaaa's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
All you should need to change is what I posted. I actually never thought of going into the config file to do it :P, I always just use Steam's version which is right clicking on Arma 3, properties, and then click set launch options. I believe Play with Six, Arma3Sync and Arma Launcher have similar options. So if putting it in the config doesn't work, do it by whatever you start Arma with. -
Multiplayer - problem with refreshing
flyinpenguin replied to edgEe's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Gamespy is shut down. Arma 3 server browser was run by gamespy. Just standby until they get their replacement up and working to standard. -

FIX if your game is crashing when it says the message, here is the fix. Reference http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?178251-Crash-Crash-and-Crash Add this to your Arma 3 launch parameters -malloc=system -
Runs fine in SP, but the game freezes during MP game play.

reference http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?178251-Crash-Crash-and-Crash Add the following to your launch parameters for Arma 3 -malloc=system -
That makes much more sense :P I kinda assumed you either meant a non-nvidia card or maybe the 780. Anyways, so that rules out graphics card drivers. So it seems it is indeed the memory allocators. I have still seen crashes even with jemalloc, so my final recommendation until Bohemia fixes their memory allocators or whatever is wrong, use the following launch parameter. -malloc=system Yep, thats all that is needed. This will give you the most stable environment. Now a few notes when using this. Frames will be slightly different. Whether or not that will be an improvement will depend on your system or the mission being played. One thing to expect however is possible longer loading times. One example is when joining a server, the initial load until you get to the lobby screen may take a while. Just be patient with it. Let me know if any of you have further crashes with this allocator running (.rpt files would be very welcome as well!)
-
Yeah, they messed up quite a few things. They changed how backpacks are defined for some reason, that broke all backpacks, these memory allocators seem to be broken, gamespy is shutting down which hosted their port work around, so now thats down, yeah. Did I also mention their HDR is broken and shadows are as well? Anyways, enough about the faults. I will be happy once they fix the memory allocators or whatever is throwing these C0000005 exceptions.

whoa, a 7900? That thing is old! Hmm... well so far the nvidia part is holding up
-
Well the fix seems to temporarily relieve the issue. I just started crashing again :( . I will start looking for other reasons. If any of you can give me some more rpt files, I will try reaccessing. Also if you can give me some numbers and small answers. 1.) Cpu brand 2.) mem amount 3.) graphics brand and series 4.) operating system This is to see if it is a hardware issue. An example of what I need will be the following (this is my system) Example: 1.) Intel 2.) 12gb 3.) Nvidia 700 series 4.) Win8.1 I think I have narrowed it down even further. Apparently everyone who has this that I know of has a 600 or 700 series Nvidia card
-
This means we are starting to get a handle on this issue! If any of you guys still are crashing with this fix, try using -malloc=tcmalloc_bi or -malloc=nedmalloc_bi. If all else fails, you can use -malloc=system but I found this one to only give me about 20 frames where I normally get 60-70. Anyways, glad its working dr@gon! hopefully it works for others as well!

lol. Like i said. Hood Ornament
