    Locking Targets With Jets

agree with this, was testing out the excellent FA-18 mod a few nights ago and it's the first time i was in the air in a long time, targeting was poor, inconsistent. I had a ground team with a laser designator and getting targets with that helped, but targeting vehicles with the AGM's was flaky. G

    Agile Helicopters

I've bounced the blackfoot about 15 metres in height and it didnt explode... but it wasnt healthy either. G
  3. 3CB to the rescue again, Ta James. thanks for the server configs, and also d'oh how did i not see the wiki entry? I was only finding the variable entries which were not explained well enough for my tiny brain. G
  4. Would anyone be able to point me towards an example serverconfig file?, i see all the variables in there, just need to know how to manipulate them. btw, a big thanks to x39, despite the rage going around i'm sure all are appreciative of your hard work.. Gav
  5. well that didnt work... *pokes finger in ear and shakes head
  6. What is the line in the user configuration I need to disable the ear ringing sound. Is it just "playearringingsound = false" Will this still mean someone can go deaf? G Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
  7. is this what you're looking for ? Thread G
  8. Hi there, I'm looking to make a small training section for fire-and-maneuver training. I had the idea that the best way to do this is have a single target at the end of the course, and the two man team would have to make sure the target is suppressed at all times (pop target remains down) while finishing the course. My thinking around this was that if i could make a target that when it returned to it's up position then waited 1.5 seconds and then sounded a brief alarm. (or hint message) to signify failure. if Target returns to up position wait 1.5 sec then play failure.wav. I've searched through all the popup target code i could find but the closest i could find was a Kylania thread here I'm fumbling in the dark here... but from that thread i mentioned i'm thinking something along these lines??? in gamelogic init i could do something like nopop = false; laneTargets = nearestObjects [this, ["TargetBase"], 100]; {_x setDamage 1; _x animate["terc", 1]} forEach laneTargets; then in init.sqf loop = true; while {loop} do { waitUntil {currentUp animationPhase "laneTargets" == 1}; sleep 1.5; hint "you loose"; }; Any help would be appreciated...
  9. Thanks James, will jump on some night this week. Gav
  10. what needs to be done to get this into LEA? Can anyone help me out? G
  11. figured my problem out, my host set up a system where the config file was renamed, and although i still had the old file present i didnt notice the new one.
  12. Thanks for quick reply but that's not it, it's a numeric password. Apart from the configuration file, does anything else needed to be uploaded to the server. Currently there are 2 be deleted files and that's about it in the be folder. Gav Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
  13. i'm still getting "password rejected"... even after uploading BEserver.cfg to the BE directory onthe server!. Any suggestions? Your Arma2 EPMRcon tool works fine. Strange. Gav
  14. getting these errors back after starting the server. http://pastebin.com/YRivGn0J I've tried reinstalling both TFR and A3MP and i've also made sure the hpp file is in userconfig.... kinda lost after that, can anyone shed some light on it. kind regards Gav ---------- Post added at 12:33 ---------- Previous post was at 12:16 ---------- fixed it... didnt realise @xactionUI was a requirement. Once it was installed server booted up fine. Gav
  15. i'm a trying to set up a preset, and while this document is indeed helpful, i'm not savvy enough with code/scripting to fully understand it. Any chance someone could post up an actual yml file so i can edit theirs (or at least see how they do it) *edit > so i see you;'ve added a new feature that will be pushed out later where you can just right-click to create a new repository and then publish that... so that'll keep me happy. Brand new to ArmA II

My advice is to get onto a multiplayer server as soon as you can. Find a decent group/server and play regularly there. You'll learn much faster, and there is quite a bit to learn. I know a lot of people are only into single-player games, but this is one that you will really miss out on if you limit yourself like that. Gav
  17. hi folks, I'm new to running a server, we've got our own edited map for our small clan and it's working fine so far. I have noticed that the AI is pretty bad though. I've editing the server profile and tweaked the difficulty however it's not enough. I've seen TMR / TPW mods and was wondering if any experienced voice can recommend or comment on their experiences using these mods. TPW seems to need quite a bit of bodging to get working multiplayer, and i havent done much reading on TMR yet. At the moment, our server runs CBA ,JayArma3lib and the various mods need to get ACRE working. Thanks in advance Gav
  18. I have a multiplay server with which we run BTC's Warstorm map. It's great, but we cannot enter Kavala without serious lag. I'm down to 20FPS from 60(ish) everywhere else on altis. Other members drop to well beneath 10 which is now unplayable. I've read a lot about the config.cfg but am not sure of our server specs and network speeds etc etc. Is there a any kind admin out there running a small (under 20 man) server that would be willing to share their config details? i'll post spec's as soon as host gets back to me with them. (suspect they're not great) Specs are 1 core of an 3.4ghz e3 with 16gig of ram which is shared., 100mbit port. Gav
  19. really appreciate this Jax. thanks from all of us. I'll test it out. Gav

    =BTC= co 50 War Storm

just like to say thanks, we run this on our dedicated server on TaranisPMC.com and we're well happy with it. Kudos Gav
  21. spent 2 months with vilayer, not as bad as i read about but not great. Moved to multiplay.co.uk and while you have much less control over your server, they have good quick/support and have a great set of admin tools. If you're new to hosting (like i am) and dont really need to go crazy with customisation i'd recommend them. We run ACE/ACRE mods but have not optimised network setting etc etc. Our server starts to get slower and a bit jittery once about 15-20 people join, so it suits our group, and i'm sure that some network tweak-age would get more out of it. IN-GAME marker needs whole refurbishment

@Monotone, excellent example of why this would be great.
  23. would be very interested in this too.. but our clan is scripter-lite so a community solution would be great. G
  24. thanks for this, it's now our standard uniform in my clan. G
