I'm going to be going to windows 7 on my next upgrade but obviously xp isn't going to be good enough for this. Which is too bad since I really prefer XP over a lot of the new OS's.

I see what you're getting at, I'm just worried it will become battlefield if it's too small of a map. The only way to know is to try I suppose and just see how it turns out.

I know that some of my friends enjoy doing more real life type tasks in game because they weren't exactly the best shooters/tacticians. Also, it would allow people like that to be useful in a way that other games don't allow them to be.

The only problem I'm seeing with this is that one of the main draws to arma is that fact that there are no boundaries. I see how it would be easier to wrangle the teams if they had some sort of out of bounds area but there should be some way to fight PvP with teams up to 12 without limiting the area in which they can fight. Also, were you guys thinking only infantry or something more?

Actually, you don't need windows 7 since I run mine on Vista 32 bit. Your 2GB of ram might be hurting you a bit too.

You're talking about having a human player fill the mundane roles or are you talking about using a mod that accomplishes this already?

I was thinking the same thing the other day when watching arma 2 videos. I thought it would be cool to improve some of the non-combat aspects in arma 3. Not sure how it would be done but I thought it would be interesting to include some sort of repair crew that would legitimately repair the vehicle or hookup the tow truck. Of course these units could be shot and killed mid repair or wounded and so forth. This would be a really mundane role to play as an actual human player but if the crew was AI by default it would add another degree of realism.

Ronnie! If you're looking for a small group of new players to play arma 3 with I have a group of 5. We play a few times a week normally around 7 pm central time until like 10 pm. Been a blast so far since we have no real preconceptions about how arma 2 was played.

Are you running a linux system or is there some other OS that won't run Arma 3?
