For your idea to use automated turrets, there are already some static weapon emplacements that can be operated with a UAV terminal. I'm not sure if they can operate on their own but its defiantly worth a looking into!

BIS stated that the campaign was going to be released later as free DLC. You are the one responsible for researching what you are paying for.

Hopefully the DayZ scrubs will stick with the standalone...

Funny because I never mentioned anything about VBS and I have no idea what your talking about. I simply stated my observation that BIS said that Arma 3 was going to be a "military sandbox" and not a simulator anymore, but I still think Arma 3 could be considered a simulator (in my personal opinion).

Just to end the debate on whether it is a simulator or not: BIS stated themselves that it is a "military sandbox" so if you want to go by the actual developer/creator of the game then it is not a simulator. As much as I want to say it is a simulator officially it is not. -Also bummed about the Bipods but I use the TMR mod which has a great weapon resting/bipod system.
