Because arguing and debating are what forums are all about. If you don't like it, or don't have anything to debate, you should depart. I love how the fanboys want to close all the threads. Come on guys, debate! What are you afraid of?
-
And now you know why Xeno rage quit when BIS' announced it was going to support Steam Workshop.
-
Lol, yes, it is unfinished and dumbed down. Bis' path looks like its set though, so we will have to hope and pray that ACE comes to our rescue once again.
-
Lol, you could have just said ACE. ---------- Post added at 16:59 ---------- Previous post was at 16:57 ---------- Give me a thousand bucks.

When AI find dead man of other group they don't change their action mode
Harbinger2456 replied to msy's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
The AI definitely needs some work. On the challenge where you are sniping, I can kill one group in the base, one soldier at a time, and they do weird stuff as their buddies die, like going into a crouch and looking at barrels near them, or proning and then spinning around, looking at the exact opposite direction of where the bullets are coming from. Only once on the mission did a soldier actually figure it out and fire at me. Hopefully, we get some better community AI scripts. -
I am a player of BI games from OFP CWC. Heres what I think.

Yeah, when they're safely away in some third world island paradise, living on all the money we paid for this half-done product. -
Hacking already ruining the game!! Please enable Steam VAC!!!!
Harbinger2456 replied to chlywly's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
The problem is, professional coders are finding they can make a lot of money and / or fame by making really good hacks. What Bis needs to do is hire some of them to show them how to STOP the hacks. Also, maybe hire the anti-hack community coders from Crysis Wars community. They made some really good programs that actually were quite simple. The programs just monitored what people were doing, and asked the question "is that possible within game rules?". If not, kick and ban. Guy running too fast? ban. Guy flying? ban. Guy just killed 8 people at once? ban. Pretty simple really. -
NATO icons are just something you have learn. Same with other sims like DCS. They're aren't that many of them. Too simmers like me, silhouettes and such on symbols dumb the game down.

Better and more varied animations is the fastest path to greater realism
Harbinger2456 replied to pete10's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Careful what you wish for. My fingers are already getting twisted trying to go through all the new stances we have now. -
Have to agree. Half of it feels like "Hey, COD makes money, lets copy it", and the other half feels like they just ran out of time and money. There were a few good fixes that were years in coming, but the rest is just bleh. I think at this point, the best we can hope for is the community modders make some good mods and scenarios to fill in the MASS AMOUNT that was left out.
-
And yet they've had HOW many years to study this?
-
This is the future. We have inertia-less force fields now.
-
PiP scopes. Anyone working on these?
Harbinger2456 posted a topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
As the title. Just wondering if anyone was trying to do these. I've seen some discussion of it, and some scripts, but has anyone managed to do it yet? Thanks. -
Yeah, Prof, they don't want me to get started on how much I hate F-ing Steam.
-
Yep, the usual garbage. I guess when you pay $60 for a game, your supposed to go to college and get a degree in game development, so you can fix all the bugs. Oh wait, this games got steamkeys on sale for $30 on some sites now. I wonder why? ---------- Post added at 20:34 ---------- Previous post was at 20:31 ---------- From who, mindless fanboys who would praise BIS for putting out two sharpened sticks for $60? No, dumbed down is exactly the right word. ---------- Post added at 20:43 ---------- Previous post was at 20:34 ---------- Excellent video, thats exactly what we need. Plus tank interiors with clickable cockpits. What we have right now is just a dumbed down BF3 in a larger land.

Lol, DM is a paid forum troll. Quite obvious.
-
@op - Yes. Its VERY dumbed down.
-
LOL, nice spin.

Disapointed with the full release content

+1. Agreed. -
LOL, its ALWAYS a matter of money.

So Arma 3 is out now, does it set the standard for future releases in the series?
Harbinger2456 replied to pd3's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Yeah, I'm waiting for them to port over all the A2 assets. All I really want out of A3 is the new infantry movement, the new lighting, and maybe the UAVs. Was watching some YouTube videos of the UAV's in action the other day and was pretty impressed. Just wish the graphics were better. As for them catering to the DayZ and Wasteland crowds foremost, you really can't blame them for wanting to make some money. We old A2 crowd, just like DCS flyboys, are pretty niche. I imagine DCS is going to cave into its investors one day too. I was shocked that I saw a mod saying Wags had actually been in talks with Outerra. VERY INTERESTING! You can't survive on the business of 200 odd people alone. @PD3 - Wait for ACE and the many mods that are coming man. Give it some time. I do hope ACE is going to make a comeback. -
Sure seems like it. Seems to me they don't want to put money into a new engine. Its like 15 years old. Time to start looking for a new engine.

To all those people who complain about "wobble". Have you ever fired a real rifle? The only time there is "wobble" is when the shooter is not paying any attention to the weapon. And its not really "wobble", but just gentle sway from walking and moving. When you are alert and "hipping" the rifle, there is only the most miniscule wobble, barely noticeable. When you are aiming down the sights, there is no wobble. At this point, there would only be wobble if you had a scope on it, and it would increase with magnification. At 4x, its very little. If anything, "wobble" in this game is highly exaggerated. How do I know this? Because I live in Texas, and have been firing and practicing with weapons (especially my AKM ) all my life.
