5 hours ago, mankyle said:Do you plan to add a navy version??
Plans right now are Army Valor Troop transport - Army attack version - Army SOF - and maybe a AC-280 Valor kinda like the blackfish.

For those following this thread. This is not dead, work travel has put a delay to this project.

I would like to introduce the two other members of the Valor team.
yasotay - Tester, Reference, Configs
villanuf - Tester, Configs, Texturing
We're working on some exciting additions to the mod.

I use Eliteness to extract Model.cfg info.

I was actually thinking of having those lateral launchers fire small UAV's like the Switchblade. Maybe..

Yep, just set your axis in the MemoryLOD.
For complex axis I import a Cylinder or something already aligned in my 3d model. Then I just collapse the cap verts in Object Builder using Shift+D.

I understand where you are going with this. The reason they're so close to the fuselage is that there is a small gap between the airframe and the blades in "airplane mode". The idea is to have the hellfire missiles usable in all phases of flight.
I added two more hardpoints right behind the gear, like some earlier concept photos. Remember, I'm going off of concept photos, mockups and even some artistic license to get the model in its finished state.

Check the sample plane. It has a retracting gear. The model CFG skeleton and animations are the same for a helicopter.

Glad it got sorted out.

Hey all just an update.
Wheel issues are resolved thanks to EricJ and hnchmc.
It's all just modelling, optimizing and config work right now.
Also, there are a couple of members who have expressed interest in assisting. They will be mentioned at a later date.
As a treat here's a WIP of the assault variant :D. (Warning, may contain GUNS)

Where's Lindy Cohen..

I agree that might be to many faces for your wheels. I think the sample planes are from 8-12 sides.
-
So almost all of your weight is on your wheels?
-
Man I really wanna say your problem is either in the GEOLOD, GeoPhys LOD or your driveonecomponent array.
The basics: make sure you marked your wheels as "Component XX" in both geo and geophys LODS using Structure >Topology>Find Components.
Make sure they are closed and convex.
Make sure you have a selection in both geo and geophys lods with the name Wheel_1 wheel_2 etc. as named in your resolution LOD.
If that doesn't work then I'm all outta ideas.
-
Try renaming your Landcontact LOD to coincide with the wheels names and try again.
Edit: It's also weird that your airplane it bobbing around like you mentioned. The driveOnComponent should keep the wheels from having too much friction.

The Airplane class only has Hull damage nothing else. If the airplane bumps around maybe set another named selection for the wheel that rotates on the visual lod but the Geo and Physics LOD stay stationary..
-
Does it work in Buldozer? Maybe you messed something up in your model cfg.

You're right. We'll see what we can put in without making it absurd.
