I am very green at trying to create simple fire missions, and one I want to create is an attack on an airfield. I have three to four teams moving into a heavily defended airstrip overland. When the defenders at the end of the airstrip are engaged, I would like to helicopter insert a group onto the end of the airstrip, and have them come up the end of the airstrip lending support to the all engaged friendly units they came across.
My thing is I have not yet figured out how the troops would get their waypoints, after they separate from the chopper. I would also like the helicopter to provide support. I tried to preset the waypoints, but my troops got removed from the chopper, but I probably did something wrong.
Right now I just have the extra team delay arrival on an overland route, but it really takes them to long to get into position, and have the Heli flying for support, but that is not quite as dramatic as the fly in. Especially if I can give them a smoke screen to land behind.
I am thinking about using a radio trigger to call in the chopper, so that the chopper has to flyin instead of arriving shortly after mission start.
Thank you for any information.
