[WIP] Combine Transhuman forces
CaptainAzimuth replied to digitalcenturion's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
LOL, the combine. Good times. -
Mods and ARMA 3 on the same level as FSX?
CaptainAzimuth replied to mercenar1e's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Lets not make it like DICE please. Have the community contribute amazing things as it is now, and has been since Arma. No changes needed really. -

That W-3 Sokol is good looking. Would be nice if they added some civilian versions, and a transport and armed version for Greenfor, since they don't have but one helicopter. -
2 CAS Aircraft remain unknown. What if?
CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I do agree, the Scorpion is a good CAS jet. On the other hand, it doesn't look too maneuverable, so as an Air to Air... Well... Even the ALCA (Buzzard) could out manuver a Scorpion, just judging by its air frame and wing span configuration. -

Seeing as it is a massive sandbox, Arma III with a bigger map, and better detail and optimization than Arma II, should have more, or at least the same amount of content in it. But not ports, finely detailed things that fit. The SUV and trucks are good example for the civilian faction. Would be nice to have some more civilian things, such as prop planes, and helicopters. -

CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
That was silly, and almost off topic, but anyway, CAS/AA are reasonable. Mixing CAS with transport, should ONLY be done by helicopter. It would be really awesome if they did something like the MI-8/17's, and had attachable wings to the sides of the Ghost Hawk, that can carry rockets and missiles. Hell yeah. Besides that aspect, trainer jets? You know trainer jets are not only designed for "training" right? Take a look at the F-5E. Was good in conflicts. How about the M-346. That is a trainer, but in fighter config it packs one hell of a punch. Same thing with the YAK-130 on the front page. Look like a trainer? Course not, its a cross bread. Built for combat, but built well and is used for training. Its a Fantastic aircraft. Maneuverable, Capable, and Stealthy. You cant get a more perfect aircraft. -

CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
FOUND SOMETHING. The germans were building a trainer jet, i believe it is sub sonic, and was cancelled, just like how the Comanche was cancelled. EADS Mako/HEAT http://www.deagel.com/library1/medium/2006/m02006120200156.jpg (116 kB) Was being built by the Germans, but could be used as a NATO thing. Stealth looking, air frame is similar to the Italian M-346, but more stealthy looking. What do you think? -

Ahh yes, the South Korean T-50, is very comparable to the role of the Yak-130, which would make it a nice fit for Blufor. CAS in the form of Prop is more for recon, and low threat environment as it states. Now, having a Kamysh, and Cheetah AA system in the area would have me sweating bullets if i were in a Bronco. Ahaha, but in a low threat Environment, the Bronco would be down right awesome as a COIN craft. Now if only BI could fix the problem with the countermeasure modes from Burst to Single. -
Do you take requests? If so you should totally make a PP-2000. But this is awesome looking. Awesome addon.

Golden eagle? Wait, i thought the CY-47 (Su-47 Burket) was classified as golden Eagle? But, the T-50 (SU-50, or PAK-FA-50) goes over the speed of sound meaning it is not sub sonic. Though, that would be really cool, but than BI would have to find a way to calculate Thrust Vector into the flight model. -
Mods and ARMA 3 on the same level as FSX?
CaptainAzimuth replied to mercenar1e's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
That is it, have a council collect the best modules, mods, including vehicle mods, sounds, and effects, and pack them into one big pack that makes sense. Call it, Arma Simulator mod, and boom. Now, you have a mod that can run in its own launcher just like DayZ was done, except, this is strictly for showing how much more interesting Arma 3 can be with user made mods that make sense. Such as Factions that go with the era and theme, vehicles that fit the era, and sound mods that make is sound as realistic as the real deal. Ba-da Bing, Ba-da Boom, what do you have? Epicness in it's purist state. -

CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Ok, ok, lets try and keep it realistic here. It has to fit in 2035, fit the factions backed by who supports them, and a plane that actually exists, or is in making, or is on the drawing board phase. In my opinion, a turboprop, even though sub sonic, could work, but i don't feel it being used in a 2035 era. Than again that Mig looks rather interesting, but doesn't fit the sub sonic rage quite like the Yak-130/131. The Yak-141? I remember comparing it to the F-35. http://theaviationist.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/yak141_3.jpg It has VTOL just like the F-35, made for naval operations as well. Looked cool, but the maneuverability is not so great, and the era... not too sure. -

CaptainAzimuth replied to topas's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
First off, the MI is hella awesome, but it looks a bit too boxy. As in, there are literally square part, which would cause a tremendous amount of air drag during flight. Maybe smooth out those edges around it. Example: http://imageshack.us/a/img543/8470/8yij.jpg (916 kB) second, the civilian cars look no whre close to as detailed as ones in Vanilla A3, say, the SUV. Maybe work on the model, and textures to make them more fine tuned, and high quality. This, though, is a rough diamond. This is good stuff. Needs work, but great! -
Stealth Takedown, Weapon Resting and more...
CaptainAzimuth replied to tupolov's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
It would be nice of for the melee, instead of doing an animation of getting hit, why not just have a straight forward rag doll drop, as if to have just knocked him unconscious. That would be better. -
Advanced Cockpit Interaction
CaptainAzimuth replied to Enricksolt's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I could say that will any mod that should have really been in A3 in it's self. It seems the community almost does better DEV work than BI themselves (understatement). For example, @RealSound (@RS), JSRS, and this fine master piece. Say, could you do Jet interactions for the Buzzards? Dude, that would do it for me. -

CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
The more modern F-35 would do, using the same one in Arma 2 would be a mistake, besides, the more modern F-35 looks 110% more SAT than the X-35B model. http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/18mrxple7alqcjpg/original.jpg (126 kB) Taking a look at the F-35A, it looks like a perfect competitor for the Blufor's CAS/AA aircraft, and the Yak-130/131 hits the sweet spot for Opfor. Heck, if the DEV's can't find a jet to use, they could look around the forums ounce in awhile. These fit standards as well. The F-35A's model is far superior to that of the Arma 2 F-35B. -
In my opinion, i think both was. The game is good. It is supposed to resemble a mil sim, but at this point, it is not quite there. It needs alot more work, because release content as most agree, isn't quite as good as it could've been. Assets to some forces, are the same vehicles with reskins, and so on. But BI is a small company, and i sort of understand it can be quite challenging with their small amount of developers working on it. End game? It still needs work. It will get that work, but it will take awhile before we REALLY start to see the good stuff. So at this point, i am indifferent.

Well as long as BI keep it accurate, and considering that Opfor and Blufor are well fit, other than the Greenfor R-Army, than it would be ideal for as clydefrog said, "Top of the line CAS jets". Yak-130/131 would be a perfect fit, as for turbo props such as the Bronco, for 2035, with current AA, i don't think it would be a good idea, as it wouldn't fly as fast or as hard as most jets. What ever the case, lets hope BI doesn't disappoint. -
Can someone with absolute meticulous skill, make a really nice model of an F-15? But this isn't gonna be your average F-15, since we are dealing with the environment of 2035. But this isn't just any F-15. This is going to be the F-15 S/MTD. It has to be realistic though, because i feel like any aircraft mod that is made for Arma 3 has to fit in perfect, if not almost perfectly. Here are a few real life images as Examples: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a7/NASA_NF-15B_837_ECANS.jpg (2120 kB) http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm47/SFMC_2008/f15active02b.jpg (191 kB) Some of those have images of the Air Show version or the Test Version. It's gotta have realistic cockpit, with instruments, much like the Ghost Hawk or the A-143 Buzzard. If someone can make a very nice, well put together F-15S/MTD, that would be outstanding.

F/A-18 Super Hornet and Su-35S Flanker E
CaptainAzimuth replied to TeTeT's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
The mod is nice, but it is FAR overly Maneuverable. It handles like an SU-37 Terminator with no payload and 20% fuel. Needs work, but i like it so far. -
Altis Life Revolution - Stick in the Story Line?
CaptainAzimuth posted a topic in ARMA 3 - USER MISSIONS
I was just curious, after playing Arma 2 a lot, and switch over the Arma 3, perhaps they are going to re create Revolution for Altis. One of my concerns is, sticking with the Year setting, and story line. Opfor being the demanding Faction over all Civilians as usual, and Bfor for Law Enforcement, and Gfor, being in control of most the country, to some extent. Are they going to keep the parameters in the story line? Here is an example http://i.imgur.com/jNaMIuY.jpg (113 kB) -

So wait, what about real estate, considering EVERY HOUSE IS ENTER ABLE, what about the option to buy a home and have keys tot he home. If you don't have keys, you can scroll wheel and it doesn't show up to open the door, and you can then lock and unlock your home as well. That would be nice. A place to live. Also, will there be a Revolution version of Altis Life, and would it stay intact with the theme and story line to Arma 3? Example http://i.imgur.com/jNaMIuY.jpg (113 kB) -
LETS RAISE THE CEILING... Literaly
CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Well that is where your wrong, to a certain extent. I have had times in Arma 2, flying over 4000 feet to stay out of a Tunguska's Range in Takistani life. Did it for hours, and never died ounce, and saved countless lives of my team. If a pilot is un able to fly at altitudes his aircraft is able to achieve, not only is it a set back for the pilot, but a set back on effectiveness and survivability when it comes to being available to his ground forces, as apposed to being a pile of burned metal behind enemy lines. Then again when it comes to true CAS, we will have to wait till BI fixes the flare system to single flare mode, as you will run out of flares in just seconds, leaving you COMPLETELY defenseless against AA.
