Honestly, this is really basic. Your software mouse, like all software mice, is laggy and annoying to use. This is why you let the OS handle the mouse. I don't get to use your fancy custom cursor, but that's a price I'm willing to pay for a usable game. Actual joysick support would also be nice, but not as big a dealbreaker.
