you can try reinstalling direct x and also try installing newest drivers for your video card to see if that helps. also try running the game in windowed mode to see it the issue is there too.

or if you have time you can try reinstalling the system. just don't forget to backup your data:)

also try scanning the computer with some anitivirus software just to be sure. then maybe try doing windows update.

well to me it looks like a windows issue, not a bug in TOM. Reinstalling windows may be the best option. Or try to go to windows safe mode and try installing that media pack .

try deleting directory in \Steam\userdata\30379696\244030 that should be a directory in which steam saves settings,saves etc. for take on mars
