Anti-realistic gear in real life =)

With two LAWs the more common problem rather than weight is the entangling of the carrying straps, but if they stay neatly, its a fast weapon to make fire-ready from the carrying position (not slower than in A2 I'd say). Most would agree though that one wants to fire those from a "prepared" position with some time and have them ready to rock ^^ It would be nice to have disposable at tubes be disposable in vanilla too. Carrying a LAW doesn't make much sense if it takes the same space than more powerful solutions like MAAWS. And then there is the discussion of armor/at power which propably has many threads.
  2. Thanks for working on the Steam patch! Have a nice summer and srenght to your efforts ^^
  3. This is very exiting, looking forward to fighting in a forest that one could not play golf in :) Good luck with the project!

Thanks for the fast response Sick1! You were indeed correct: I had installed that particular addon ass-backwards :o

    [CAMP] SEAL Team 6 DEVGRU

Hello! I have encountered a strange problem in the campaign: After ive finished the first mission and the subsequent sidemission, I cannot start the "Friend in Need" mission at all. Either after finishing the sidemission or skipping it via talking to my superior, I get moved to the mission selection window of the campaing and the only options for "Friend in Need" are "Continue" and "Back". Clicking on "Continue" will result in the game freezing and becoming unresponsive: I have to ctrl-alt-del to quit. I have given it a decent time. This has only happened to me once before: after crashing during Seal Team Six 4 mission K-Bar this happened after trying to restart it. That mission too had only the options "continue" and "back" this problem redownloading the campaign didnt solve it. I've never made a campaing though so I dont really know what kind of indication those options can be, and I am still pretty oblivious to missionmaking outside the editor. Hoping to be continuing the campaing soon! Oh and I only have mods that are required by the campaing :) I don't wish to waste anyones time so if Im doing something obviously wrong I ask all to show mercy to the noob :D The campaigns I've played from you are some of the best around :) Good luck!
  6. I play other games also, but for different reasons obviously. There is a reason why I've logged 8 hours into BC2 and 300 into Arma2 CO though (bought at the same time) and I fell I've only scratched the surface of A2CO. Arma2 hasn't made me discriminate other FPS games, but it's sometimes hard not to compare any other FPS game to it. Used to play R6 Raven Shield quite a bit. Thrilling, unforgiving and fast with quite a bit of tactics and relatively realistic. Good times :) wonder if anyone plays anymore...
  7. I bought mine from Steam but had I known better, I would have gone for other options. Its not unplayable, you can make mods work but it is not as convenient in keeping the game and the mods up to date. Personally I haven't had any trouble worth getting angry about but when you have the option to decide, Steams strenghts are elsewhere. Good luck!

    FDFmod 1.0

Hey! I have some questions and a bit of feedback also. The issue is with a mission, hence the spoiler. I for one like the sound of RK95, most personal memories include ear protection that cuts the sharpest noises and thats why I dont have issues with it. It certainly sounds more violent than ak74 and its heartwarming to have many of them singing at the same time :) Flak88!? Ive heard about Maxim mg:s being in stock "just in case" but that is pretty mindblowing if they still have them

New PC Gamer + Thinking of ArmA 2

I agree with the above, Arma2:CO+BAF/PMC is by far the best purchase I've made for this computer apart from the hardware. And there are more missions/campaings out there than one would ever hope to have time to play :) Plus there's the multiplayer dimension that I for one haven't really discovered yet, but I know its there. Good luck and have fun! Sokka

    FDFmod 1.0

Thanks for releasing this awesome mod! The campaing has a nice atmosphere and I like the way RK was made, altough it would be nice to be able to look over the scope in close quarters like it was mentioned earlier. Now off to play some more FDFmod!

    Tanks are really unrealistic

I too find this issue more pressing, altough jumping out from a powersliding apc to engage the enemy (kinda like Bruce Willis in "RED") is thrilling at best, its not what one would want in A2 and most often results in death. When pulling out from the road to the fields/desert/woods I notice a slowdown but the speed will eventually pick up pretty well. The tanks and offroad vehicles should have more torsion so that they could maintain a certain speed even on slopes where the average driver would loose faith way before the engine.

    [SP/COOP2] Operation Cold Bore

Hello all, I think I have the same problem as the people above, the objective marker is green and the target is nowhere to be seen. I have A2 CO, BAF, PMC, ACE2 +all the goodies , zeuAI (that is included anyway?) Latest official patches and stable release of ACE & co. Guess Ill need to find out how to "unpbo" or somehow make the mission openable with the editor to implement the ammo script. I shall report back if lucky. PS. The mission is very enjoyable, especially in MP! Just getting to the site was one of the best mission experiences I've had, though I havent had much MP experience anyway and Im only beginning to discover the depth of Arma2.
