Poor performance, even after going from a 8120 to a 4670k
ZoneTrooper replied to Planetside's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
What do you mean with 8120 the resolution? ATM in Multiplayer it doesnt matter what kind of PC you have, because the server admin adjusts stuff like visibility,draw-distance and thats the setting that takes the most performance. You can have a GTX Titan with the newest Intel CPU pushed on over 4,4Ghz and 8GB ram and it still runs like crap on game modes like Wasteland.Maybe you allready noticed that when you play coop missions it just runs great, but when you go on wasteland server the performance can drop pretty bad. -
Ragdoll not working on "dead" soldiers.
ZoneTrooper replied to OrLoK's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
The Ragdolls are still somehow hmm not realy polished, but they are ok for ARMA 3.I guess because they dont have the expirience to make great ragdolls like the one in Havok physics or stuff like that.I dont know i dont have that issue, most of the time i play wasteland if i kill there someone his body drops down with normal ragdolls, and i think if they still make ragdolls moving while they are dead, the game would propably get a 18+ Adult Rating maybe even censored.Maybe you allready noticed it when you shoot with a vehicle mounted gun on a soldier, there are pieces of flesh flying out of his body or with snipers too, this could be a problem for the game adult rating,i think they want to achieve a normal 16 rating and not 18. -
Fps is almost too low for me to play this game
ZoneTrooper replied to SquattingDuck's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
First of all its Wasteland if you are playing on a Wasteland you actually never get over 60 FPS in most cases.Problem here is that nearly every setting is made by the server admin, like if the Admin choose 600 meters visibility you only can see 500 even if you set visibility to 3000 or more. Also it depens on what kind of settings he is running the game, like fast moving cloudes, speed increased day and night cycles. Also it depends how manny vehicles, corpses, weapons, food items, normal items and all the stuff on the server at the same time, that dropes the FPS of it EXTREMLY.There are even users with a Titan Graphicscard and the newest intel CPU pushed up to 4.3 Ghz and they still get 30 FPS in the game.Alot depens on the server settings, like if you die your body doesnt respawn and lay there for hours, and now think if 60 players are dieng for like 5 hours of gameplay,it totally breaks the FPS down.I also played on servers like Armajunkies.de there i have constant 40-60 FPS with my GTX 680 C-i7.860 2.8Ghz 8GB Ram because if you die there, your body despawns after 2-4 minutes, that saves alot of performance. Also there server is not overloadet with TONS and TONS of vehicles and shitty random stuff like walls, barricades, fences, objects that you can move arround all these things drop down your FPS.If you wann play the Game normal, the admins should decrease the vehicles to 50-70 and let the corpses and food/water despawn after 2-4 Minutes,so that the server dose not get filled with dump over the hours. -
OVER POWERED AI ! Please fix this for final game ruins coop

I guess that the Server Admins can adjust the stregth of the bots, because in singleplayer ok they shoot pretty accurate, but in Multiplayer they can be some real killing machines, klling people with choppers from 5 or more kilometers away. But for the Single-Player the bots are ok so far. -
Hey guys did you also noticed a HUGE performance boost since the last update on Steam? i started ARMA 3 Yesterday and wait until he dowload the patch, started the game and it runs like shit like all the time. But then later in the evening,i started it again joined a server, and i had like 60-75 FPS 1920 everything on Ultra and 2AA plus AF visibility over 8000 and it runs pretty smothe. And then today i start Arma 3,and got 25-30 FPS again  jesus Christ is seriously dont understand the Mechanic behind this system.I mean i actually have a pretty bad ass mashine,Core i7-860 2800MHZ,8GB-DDR3-1600 MHZ Ram,fastest GTX 680 with 4 GB Video Ram and one day it runs smothe like hell, and the next day it runs like the biggest crap you have ever seen how this can be? i guess it has something to do with the servers on that you are Playing in Multiplayer.Because when i play in the Editor or a Skirmish missionen,i dont have these EXTREM Performance issues,in the Editor i even can put the visibility on 12000 and in runs with 37-50 FPS when i fly in a chopper. But when i join on a server,i get a HUGE performance lose of nearly 60 Percent.I think that the server settings have something to do with these performance issues,so if the server has a visibility of 4000 you only can look so far like the server it on this parameter,so if you have 12000 you still only see 4000 but he still consumes the full power of 12000 and on some servers,it doesnt even matter if you change your grafik settings, because you still have the same FPS like you would play with Maximum settings. Is it possible that a dev can say something about it?

Huge Performance Boost after new Patch?
ZoneTrooper replied to ZoneTrooper's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Like i allready say before i have constant 40-70 FPs plus on Editor Missions or on Skirmish Fly Missions even with 12000 Visibility and overall settings too.Like i say in singleplayer i can play it with 12000K on Multiplayer on some servers to,but on some servers i even have to drop down the visibility to nearly 1000 -..- -

ZoneTrooper replied to BiZzR32's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Yep the AI is just a bad joke right now in ARMA 3,today i play Wasteland with some friends, and a AI AH-60 with Rocket pods killed me from a distance of 7 Kilometers with Pin point accuracy yay so fun to play with godlike AI.And you dont even hear the Rockets fly,you just hear a Explosion and see the chopper thats it. -
Issues with framerate not always constant
ZoneTrooper replied to Darklynx's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Yep its true,i have a GTX 680 with 4GB ram and it nearly makes no differece changing visual effects like Terrain and stuff like that. The only thing that consumes HUGE performance is the overall view distance and object view distance plus AA and the MSAA stuff. -
Yep i have the same problem, but i use a different System.Core i7-860 with 2,8GHz 8GB DDR-3 1600 MHZ and the fastest GTX 680 on the Market with 4GB video Ram running ARMA 3 on 1920 2AA AF Ultra Rest Very High to Ultra and i get HUGE FPS drops on some servers, but when i start a mission in the Editor it runs ok.Also the most Power Hungry Setting in Arma 3 is the View range and Object setting,as higher you put the setting for Objects and draw distance so lower the FPS gets.In some cases on MP servers i even drop down to 12 FPS oO and that is insane,i mean a GTX 680 with 4GB video Ram and 12FPS this cant be.I realy realy hope that there will be Alot of Performance improvements for Arma 3.Also i noticed that you get FPS drops if you look right in the center of the map,but if you look towards the sea you get better FPS.Also when you are in bigger villages near the water or the airport, you get seriously FPS drops but when you drive on the regular roads on the map the FPS is ok. I recommend to set the overall and object view range something about 2900 to 1900 thats the best setting for me so far,if i increas the view distance the FPS drops are HUGE running around with 20 FPS,its just not possible then to react if you are under fire because it runs pretty slow. And yes it makes nearly no difference to change the visual settings like terrain and stuff like that, cause the view range is the most power hungry setting in ARMA 3
