Looking for Testers: Development Snapshot - Mercenary Campaign
Kydoimos replied to IndeedPete's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Lol, hi Cobra - that's exactly what I asked in another thread! Yesterday! http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?176374-Campaign-Creation-Folder-Location ---------- Post added at 19:45 ---------- Previous post was at 19:42 ---------- And looking forward to your campaign, Pete - good screenshot too, I appreciate the time that goes into that! Always a nice touch! -

Concept Theory: Distant Storm Clouds / Storm?
Kydoimos posted a topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Just testing the water here, does anybody know of a way in which I might create the look of an approaching storm? Clearly, the storm weather conditions are great - but I would like to try and create something in the distance. Ominous and menacing. Any ideas? Thanks for any suggestions! -
The time is coming when I need to start thinking about placing missions into a campaign. Now, I have the description.ext and Missions folder in a .pbo folder, which itself is in a folder named 'Campaigns'. But where does it go, precisely? I've tried a few different locations - but no joy! And I take it we can't upload campaigns on the Steam Workshop? Thanks in advance, for any help provided.

Concept Theory: Captured Drone?
Kydoimos replied to Kydoimos's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
I think so, yes. I don't know if setCaptive made any difference. But I managed to hit targets with an enemy UAV! -
Just wondered if this would be possible somehow, and whether anyone has any ideas how to make it happen. Basically, I want to know if you can use the AAF version of the Greyhawk drone if you are a Blufor unit, with a laser designator, and you are hostile to the AAF, and you want to use it against AAF targets? I don't want control of the drone, I only want it to attack targets that the Blufor unit is designating. Ordinarily, the a friendly UAV will engage. But I'm not sure if this is achievable if the unit is tagged as being hostile to you. So, looking for a workaround. One solution would be to change the texture - but then I'm still left with the title of the UAV which reads Greyhawk instead of the AAF equivalent. Thanks in advance for any solutions offered! ---------- Post added at 19:13 ---------- Previous post was at 19:05 ---------- Beautiful - after some testing, I've discovered setCaptive on the drone does the trick...

Campaign Creation Folder Location
Kydoimos replied to Kydoimos's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
There's another thread on campaign creating somewhere - I think you posted a link to an example campaign folder - I just assumed it was your example! :p -
Concept Theory: Distant Storm Clouds / Storm?
Kydoimos replied to Kydoimos's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Thanks everybody - that's great. In all honesty, I think it might be a bit too time consuming. It's an idea I'd like to implement, but perhaps at a later date. Going to have to focus on more important features, I think. But if anyone hears of anything - please share! Cheers chaps! -
Arma 3 Game Over "seek answers"

I had to laugh - so much for seeking answers! -
Concept Theory: Distant Storm Clouds / Storm?

Mmm, I think this might be a little bit ambitious :) but if anyone does have any suggestions, I'd be interested to hear them! -

Campaign Creation Folder Location
Kydoimos replied to Kydoimos's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Brilliant, thanks - very helpful! I downloaded your example campaign too, again - thanks for that! I'm a bit rusty on the campaign construction as I missed out on Arma2,so really appreciate the help! -
Bit of a noobish question, but - are bridges actually destructible? I've found a few posts insinuating they are. But there are no damaged models for them in the asset library and in-game they cannot be destroyed...

Are Bridges Destructible?
Kydoimos replied to Kydoimos's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Ah shame, it does seem to look like this is not achievable then. I did think that might be the case without a damage model. -
Are Bridges Destructible?
Kydoimos replied to Kydoimos's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Is this something that was a feature and now is no longer? -
I think for a lot of people, time is an important factor. Maybe the way forward is to form close-knit, mission making groups? Just a thought.

If anything, it's good to see from these posts that people are concerned with the quality of missions - we'll have to take it upon ourselves to raise the standards!

All good things come to those who wait :-) https://www.facebook.com/pages/ArmA-3-Resist/387925164679293?fref=ts But yes, I heed the point being made. Perhaps, Make Arma Not War will entice a variety of ambitious projects. And as L3 says above, there's a few good ones out there! Ground Attack, I think, was a personal favourite!

REQUEST: FSM Config - "campaignFSMA3.cfg"
Kydoimos replied to IndeedPete's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Yes, I'll second that - be nice to have it in our hands! A fully functional hub system must be attainable. -
Thank you Variable - much appreciated! All the publicity helps!

Hi Denco - yes, here's how. Create your image. Save it as a .png or .jpeg file or something similar. Download ArmA Tools. Open your image with TexView2. Select RGBA from the first drop down box and DXT5 from the second. Then save the file with the affix .paa. You should now have a valid image compatible with ArmA3. Enjoy!

I think judging from BI's last experience, we'll be looking at a fictional island - albeit one inspired by somewhere... but how close it will be to the real thing, is hard to say.
