It seems to not happen when on Operation Arrowhead, just on Standalone ArmA 2

After playing ArmA 2 for around 8 minutes the game black screens and the only way to continue is by doing Left shift + number-pad - then type flush which puts me back into the game, but then it happens again after another 8 or so minutes. I can't see why the settings would be too high because I have a quite powerful system. It seems to still do it no matter what settings I am on. I want to know if there is a more permanent solution to this problem as it's very annoying when you are in combat and it black screens and someone takes up the opportunity to kill you. If anyone could help me I would be very thankful.
