best videos to introduce friends to ARMA

Can't go wrong with any of the videos from the Shack Tactical crew. Literally all they do is Arma and some of their videos are pretty intense.

    Firing Drills - Challenge!

Yea the whole target disappearing thing has happened to me a few times if your character gets super close to them accidentally. The door opening on the course is also pretty hilarious sometimes xD

    More complex surrender system

They should really implement a sort of "flex-tie" system where each soldier has a certain number of flextie cuffs. It would be extremely realistic as well considering most combat units carry gear accustomed to holding prisoners of war in general.

    Pistol animation is bad

Yea, sprinting while holding a pistol with both hands doesn't make sense. Jogging however is understandable. Also thought it was kinda weird how they changed the jogging pistol animation to being held in an upwards position rather than holding the pistol at a downward more combat safe position. (seems more realistic holding a pistol down rather than shooting in the air if an accidental discharge)

    This game is not realistic.

Isn't that what a "game" is about? Who has faster reaction time when shooting in first person anyway? LMAO. If you wanted to play a game based on 100% strategy you could go play an RTS
  6. You can press S and it will slow down your crouching speed. I think they did that so you can run at full crouch speed and slow down when you need to sneak. It wouldn't make sense having the crouch speed so limited. Same with sprinting.

Tech wise (arma3 vs other huge map games)

Terrain doesn't look too bad if you aren't like zoomed in staring at the textures. But you're right, when you start staring at them it looks kinda poop. Overall I think the graphics look beautiful in ultra. BI definitely needs to improve game performance in higher texture settings though for sure.

    Suppressive Fire?

In a sense they do. They lay down, turn exactly to your location, and then proceed to aimbot you depending on the difficulty set by each bot. Some run from confrontations but most in groups lay down as a normal soldier in battle would do to evade fire.

    CPU cores

16 core processors are made specifically for server builds, not gaming. And a quad core processor is the minimum recommended requirement for the game. So anything in the AMD FX series (4100+) should run it fine. Intel i5 series at least.

    Shooting around corners

Lern2Lean. But in all seriousness, nobody on the BI community wants to see kids running around blind firing around corners. Tactically speaking, NATO military forces don't do this in operations as there would be unavoidable civilian casualties. Shoot accurately and lay down suppression fire, not wildly spray around corners.

    Safety / Weapon Malfunctions

I'm pretty sure what BI was going for in the "MX" series with the 6.5 build was a replication of a 6.8mm modern firearm. Most 6.8's use a piston driven system unlike the M4 series of our current-gen weaponry. So putting jams in a advanced weapon like the MX, which looks extremely similar to the Magpul ACR as well as the FN Scar, would be pretty unrealistic. Weapon jams rarely occur in advanced weapons such as these, if it was an M16 or something of the matter it would be understandable though, as the user would simply have to do a malfunction clear and reinsert a new mag. Pistols on the other hand would be way more likely to jam as opposed to advanced assault rifles, same with the light machine guns. So likelyhood of jams in assault rifles: <10% chance LMGs: 30-40% chance Pistols: <20% chance ^All in my opinion if you are looking at it from a real world perspective
