    I've always wanted to go to a shooting range, I probly won't get to shoot iconic weapons though at a local gun range as I live in Canada, will probly be mostly hunting rifles.

    Just have a small question, when in first person why do most guns have a clicky hardware sound right after bullet has fired after each shot, 3rd person mode doesn't have them. Wouldn't the gunfire be so loud that you couldn't here the weapons hardware going off, would the sound of the user shooting the gun be the same as someone standing right beside them? I'm a newb with real life guns though so don't be afraid to correct me.
  3. I set an enemy vehicle to travel through a town, doing a few turns and such but it makes a rrrrrin rrrrrrin rrrrrrin sound every 2 seconds or so, its like the vehicle is stomping the brakes and accelerating, I have the wapoint speed set to limited.
  4. I have a lit construction cone that flashes light, is there any scripting i can give the item for it to emit a stronger pulse of light?
  5. So I'm putting together a mission in editor and I have a lit bonfire placed within a walled in area. It's pitch black out so I have night vision goggles on and with them on I can see a very bright flickering on buildings and distant objects it's as bright as sitting next the the fire with night vision on yet the flickering is happening on objects hundreds of meters away. The bright flickering matches the crackling of the flames, when i remove the bonfire it stops. When i turn the night vision off, i can see where the light from the bonfire is hitting the wall but its very feint and not much of an issue. It's deffinitly a bug, can any one help me with this?

    I'm not really getting much from this thread, I'm fairly new to this and don't really understand what they are talking about. I was hoping to type in a simple command in the units initialization.

    Howcome the inner scope shadow doesn't reveal itself when firing like it does on the optic demonstration video? I just downloaded the mod today. Also for those trying to get the bipod to work, it seems that its in fact not under lock target keybind, rather its attached to "next target" under weapons tab which for me was undefined by default, for others trying the tutorial and getting bipod "undefined" its because "next target" doesn't have a key. I keybound tab to "next target" and bipod works.

    I only run CBA and your mod and yes i have sample rate to 128, i just removed the files from arma and then re-extracted JSRS 2.1 and CBA into arma 3 again and now i can here distant explosions :) everything seems to be working now. Just a quick question though, out of curiosity why do some weapons, most noticably the snipers have a clicky sound when firing in first person, right after the bullet has left the barrel there is a clicky noise similar to the sound made by changing weapons. P.S. Amazing work on this mod, so emersive!

    I just installed the JSRS 2.1 mode and the latest CBA mod, for the most part JSRS is running smooth. I only encounter a few instances where some sound effects arnt being played past 15 meters. Grenade explosions from hand grenade and underbarrel launcher arnt making sound effects past 15 meters. I did a test to see in the editor if an enemy was shotting at me with a rifle from a long distance if id be able to hear gunfire, and i did, i can also hear long distance satchel charges going off. Is it just me or is every one experiencing the same instance? Can any one help me out with this? Edit: rocket launchers also do not have sound effect apon detination at ranges past 10 meters and same with vehicle explosions.

From what I've seen so far, there has been no mention of subsonic ammo by the devs. I don't know much about subsonic ammo apart from that it travels at subsonic speeds thus not creating a sonic boom and being much less quiet then using regular ammo with a suppressor? I know people say that suppressors in game make the guns too quite, but from what I have heared in game, I can always make out where the shots are comming from, no matter how far. I havnt done much testing but it seems that suppressors work against AI much as they do against players, they here and react from long distances. Concidering the game is set in the near future, I would like to see slightly enhanced subsonic ammo in the game. The ammo, when coupled with a suppressor would allow for ranged stealth kills, primarily used against AI in the campaign in stealth missions. Wether or not players want to use them in their server is entirely up to them. For balance purposes, I would guess that subsonic ammo travels at lower velocities, thus requiring more skill to use from range and dealing less damage on impact. I'd like to see subsonic ammo used in sniper rifles, rifles and pistols, and if pistols cant already use suppressors, allow them to do so.

I would not hold back cash on a thick, very detailed editing manual that will teach me from the beginning, all the ins and outs of how to use every aspect of the editor to create missions and multyplayer game types. I plan to play arma 3 for a very long time and have always been interested in creating content. Make it BI and I will buy in a heartbeat!
  16. Ok so I have a trigger that activates when helicopters are destroyed, what I'd like to happen next is to have enemies seek and destroy at that location once the trigger activates. My problem is that I'm using the commonly known way to place AI in interiors(give them all waypoints and positions within the building) but the problem is, I can only sync 1 AI waypoint to the trigger because all the "enter building waypoints" are stacked on top of each other, allowing me to only click on the top-most one. Ideally I'd like to have the enemy AI move from the building to the trigger, for dramatic effect. Is there a way to have the AI spawn already inside the building when the mission starts up, opposed to giving them waypoints?

I'd like to know how to delay an alarm trigger by say, 5 seconds but more importantly, I'd like to know how to turn off the alarm after either of 2 conditions, A: enemy gives up search, B: the alarm is set for a certain amount of time. I'm a beginner at this, I'd like to know what Countdown/Timeout mean on the trigger, and what the options mean underneith it, thanks!
  18. Ok so I made a simple trigger, activated by bluefor(me) that is suppose to play an alarm but when I step in the sound does not play. To make sure that the trigger was going off, I added text to display on screen, and also tested soundtracks to go off, they all went off. Under the effects tab, none of the "Trigger:" items make any sound or do anything, what gives? ---------- Post added at 01:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:48 PM ---------- Scratch that, I saved a new file, loaded it up and its working :S.
  19. I'd like to point out that this is not real life. I'm using a headset, and the gunfire is so loud that if I want to keep it down to avoid damaging my ears, ambient sounds become so quiet that I can barely hear them(wind, footsteps waves, etc.) which also isn't very realistic. Like others have said, gunfire and ambience should be on separate sliders, problem solved.
  20. People are always talking about new updates but I have never actually seen the game update on steam or when the game starts up. Is it suppose to automatically update? The version my game is currently running is 0.5.102571, what is the latest version?

    Noted, but do the verified less frequent patches happen automatically or do I have to manually download it. If it happens automatically does it happen in the steam library window or when I start the game.
