Ok, I tried hard, but wasn't able to reproduce the error. Do you only get it while playing the campain? ---------- Post added at 10:25 ---------- Previous post was at 10:24 ---------- I'll take a look at it. There is a good chance that I will include config data for their weapon pack in the next release.---------- Post added at 15:11 ---------- Previous post was at 10:25 ---------- I will add ammo classes for both with the next release. However, we still need weapons that actually shoot those rounds.

This might be related to loading a savegame, I will investigate this further. Thanks a lot for the detailed bug report.

No, nothing will change for standalone users. I will continue to maintain the standalone version. I have always kicked the scope problem down the road, but it is probably time to tackle it.---------- Post added at 11:42 ---------- Previous post was at 11:41 ---------- @CameronMcDonald, I'll try to reproduce your errors. Are you using the latest stable version of ArmA III?

All of these effects are present in AdvancedBallistics, but I need to work on the ATragMX GUI, before I can add them to the ballistic calculator. I'll take a look at this tomorrow. You can edit every aspect of the gun profiles from within the calculator. But, one of the biggest shortcomings of the current user interface is, that you have to press 'Enter' once you have modified the zero range in the gun column, to confirm the change. I hope that I can get rid of that once the GUI revamp is finished. I have included config data for many 3rd party weapon packs, but not for all of them. The R3F pack is not yet supported, which means that the vanilla drag function is used, when you shoot their ammunition. Also keep in mind that the vanilla .50 Caliber rifle (GM6 Lynx) shoots the russian 12.7×108 mm cartridge and not the .50 BMG (12.7x99mm) cartridge. This is the case when ArmAs airFriction model is used instead of the 'G' drag models.See: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?181324-Advanced-Ballistics-(WIP)&p=2799998&viewfull=1#post2799998 The wind calculation is based on 3d vector arithmetic. Up- and downward winds are theoretically supported, but not yet occurring. The head- and crosswind calculations of the Kestrel 4500 are done using sin/cos. I remember having good results when shooting the .408 CheyTac bullet beyond 2000 m, due to its stable flight through the transonic region. You can also use this as a reference: .408 CheyTac

Feel free to ask as many questions as you like. AdvancedBallistics is soon going to be part of CSE. This will hopefully alleviate the problem. Your bullet profiles will remain intact. If you think they are of interest for others as well, then ask here, otherwise don't be afraid to ask via PM. Short answer: They use the exact same math and perfect input data will lead to perfect output data. However, it is not always easy to gather perfect input data.Long answer: Both, the bullet trajectory and the ATragMX firing solutions are based on the same simulation model. The position of the bullet is calculated iteratively. Spin drift, Coriolis- and Eötvös effect, however, are not yet taken into account by the ATragMX. The accuracy of the firing solutions generated by the ATragMX software is limited by the correctness of the input data and the inherit accuracy of the gun. AdvancedBallistics also tries to simulate the erratic effects that occur during transonic flight.

It will be included in the next update: class arifle_Mk20_GL_F { AB_barrelTwist=7; AB_barrelLength=16; }; ---------- Post added at 11:20 ---------- Previous post was at 10:58 ---------- Version 2.6 Changelog: -Added missing config data for (arifle_Mk20_GL_F, arifle_Katiba_GL_F, arifle_MX_GL_F, arifle_MX_SW_F, SMG_02_F and BWA3_B_762x51_Ball_SD) -Added latitude and altitude information for (Caribou, Namalsk, MCN_Aliabad, Clafghan, Sangin, Sara, reshmaan, Thirsk and lingor)

Thanks for the thorough testing! I will try to reproduce your observations. AdvancedBallistics does not alter the reference wind speed (the wind speed at altitudes greater than 20m above ground). The dynamic wind feature is not yet implemented and I don't it's going to make it into the next version either. I had to discard my draft version of the new wind system because it was overcomplicated. You can try this weather mod in the meanwhile: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?178674-Dynamic-weather-script-and-addon-tort_DynamicWeatherIf you play on any of the 360 Degree Training Course maps you'll have static reference wind speeds, which are randomized on mission start. The problem with adding new ammo types is, that you also need 3rd party weapon packs that make use of it. But I'll try to find a workaround for this problem.PS: Are you really the guy from youtube? In that case, thank you very much for your awesome SNIPER 101 series. I've watched all of the videos, and it helped me a lot! ---------- Post added at 10:15 ---------- Previous post was at 10:13 ---------- On which map are you playing, and what are you doing to trigger the RPT spam?

+1 on Avard's request. -
I will take a look at it. Edit: The config data for the BWA3_B_762x51_Ball_SD ammunition class is missing. I'll fix that in version 2.6. Thanks for reporting!

The only way to force set wind reliably is to execute "setWind[x, y, true]" in a loop. I have been toying around with setWind a while ago, but discarded my outcomes: -

ATragMX - Handheld ballistics calculator
ruthberg replied to ruthberg's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Yes it will, but only if the map is supported by the mod. Otherwise a default latitude of 50 is assumed. Thirsk and Lingor are not yet supported.Currently supported maps are: Altis, Stratis, Fallujah, F.A.T.A, Abbottabad, Wamako, Sturko, Bornholm, Imrali, Chernarus, Takistan, Zargabad You can also change the latitude on-the-fly by modifying the global variable AB_Latitude (e.g. AB_Latitude = -20). -

The ATragMX will only take your WS (wind speed) and WD (wind direction) input into account when used together with AdvancedBallistics. The output should always be exactly the same, no matter if used in Singleplayer, Multiplayer or in the Editor. Did you change the WD input field accordingly? -
There are several mods that introduce weapon resting to the game (VTS, TMR, CSE, AGM just to name a few). And tons of weapon mods which contain bipods. This might help: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?181324-Advanced-Ballistics-(WIP)&p=2788362&viewfull=1#post2788362

ATragMX - Handheld ballistics calculator
ruthberg replied to ruthberg's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
When used together with AdvancedBallistics, muzzle velocity will vary with ammo temperature. I have already published a ballistics table for the .408 caliber (scribd - zippyshare). Other tables will follow. But you can also measure the muzzle velocity, for example by using the 360 Degree Training Course mission. -
ATragMX - Handheld ballistics calculator
ruthberg replied to ruthberg's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I don't know how to get accurate bore height information for rifle / scope combinations in the game. But that should not be a real problem. Just stick with the default bore height of 1.5 inches. The ATrag can handle both English and Metric units of measure. You can toggle between the two system by pressing one of the push buttons in the top right corner ('E' for English and 'M' for Metric). A detailed description can be found in the manual on page 10. The "Relative Click Memory" feature is described in the manual on page 18. It is meant to be used when you have to engage multiple targets in the same area. -
Just for kicks - a small drag model comparision. The following graphs illustrate the velocity and drop differences between ArmA's airFriction and the G drag model:

Version 2.4 Changelog: -Added config data for several 3rd party weapon mods (RH, HLC, BWA3, Trixie and Massi) -Added climate data for Bornholm and Imrali -Minor performance improvements @jokowidodo, I will try to include the persistent zero in the next version. @Yakavetta, thank you for your efforts.

That's true. But I am already working on a solution for this. See: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?181324-Advanced-Ballistics-(WIP)&p=2789621&viewfull=1#post2789621 The only public 3rd party weapon pack, that already ships with a complete data set for AdvancedBallistics is EricJs @u100. I will soon release a new version, with config data for the following weapon packs included: @RH_M4_A3 - @RH_PDW_A3 - @RH_Pistol_A3 @hlcmods_ar15 - @hlcmods_ak - @hlcmods_g3 - @hlcmods_fal - @hlcmods_m14 - @hlcmods_core @NATO_Russian_SF_Weapons @BWA3 (@Trixie_XM8 - @Trixie_Recon - @Trixie_Rifles - @Trixie_BritishWeapons)
