    Thanks!

I agree, the best FPS I got before the campaign was 30, not I get like 50 regular. And the campaign has showed me how truly great a game arma 3 is.

Enemy soldiers take too much damage

I find that my problem isn't the enemy taking 3 bullets to center mass and living. But accuracy. I shoot a guy, and think the bullet connects, when in all reality it doesn't. Also, I seem to be really good at shooting their guns. Killing was far easier in arma 2, for a multitude of reasons.

    The island is boring.

Is that really why you are playing this game? For the graphics? I agree, she is beautiful. But its a military simulator. And the missions are pretty good. Have you tried the campaign? I found it really fun. And the missions people create are really good. Arma 2 is popular right now, because despite how crappily it was made, the bugs are mostly out and we are all used to that engine, and the way it feels. The community will come around once BI decides bugs are worse than a lack of campaign content.

    The island is boring.

I think the thing you are not understanding is, Call of duty, battlefield 3.5 are fake. One man armies, that absorb bullets and attack super mega secret arctic bases owned by middle eastern terrorists and Russians don't exist. Altis does have interesting locations, you have to look for them. I understand that urban combat if pretty screwed up right now, what with AI not doing so well in buildings. And heck, I find the map boring as well. Hopefully the community will come out with some cool maps. But your hope for some type of urban combat like BF and CoD are too far fetched right now. Maybe in the near future. I hope so as well. Also, try to find a clan or something, playing with random people I find is really uninteresting.
  5. That is AWESOME! sweet hiding spot bro. Be terrible if I... Stole it.
  6. I was also interested in editing and found this little gem: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?148594-ArmA-3-Editor-Tutorials-Building-Simple-Missions I would highly advise checking it out, it's very simple and easy to follow, hell I could follow it. There are also more tutorials on his channel. Sorry, I thought you simply wanted to learn the editor, not everything. But think of this as a good jumping off point.

    The Grenade Thread

Well, I mean, you could take the pin out and hold the lever to more accurately throw, but other than that I don't think cooking should be added.

    Question on Setting: Why 2037?

I think because it's always given the 'simulator' vibe, plus it's been advertised as such. When I heard of arma, they kept saying "simulator" and such, so I just regarded it as a simulator. Plus, it doesn't take ten shots to kill you, but one well placed one to do the job. Independent head movement things like that set it apart. But it feels like more of a game now then arma 2 did. Probably because it is not nearly as clunky. And the setting of course.
  9. I do absolutely agree. With arma 2 when in a city, I would stay in a position in a house rather than run around. Where as in this game, I don't care. Maybe because I'm only in the editor, but it doesn't feel, like you said "scary." And the AI does know your position immediately, and the AI is on easy, of course this game is in alpha and is always going to improve. But I do agree with you the AI needs to feel like a player, not a robot. And the guns also need improvement, they do have a better 'crack' I would say, I think just starting in alpha they are better than arma 2. But they need more of a boom, like you are shooting a GUN not a pop gun.
  10. So, on the editor, the game runs pretty well, I'd say at about 50 FPS. But when in multiplayer, specifically wasteland I get 28 FPS normal, where as in DZS I get also 50 FPS. But where I really take a performance hit is when scripted AI, a lot of them more so are around, that destroys my FPS. I was just wondering if there is a way to get better performance, I don't exactly have cash pouring out my pockets so is there any way to improve FPS while still keeping decent looking settings? Specs: AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz Quad core Nvidia Geforce GTX 550Ti 1GB Windows 7 home premium 64-bit Ram: 12GB Motherboard model: TA870U3+ I also noticed, when I play, that my four cores usually don't go above 70% and my GPU is screaming at 84 degrees Celsius and max usage. Any way to improve performance? And also how does my computer specs just simply stand up? Also, I'm new to BIforums, not to arma played since arma 2 though. Hi. Thanks. Sorry didn't mean to put a title, didn't think it was optional.
