    Is the game dumbed down?

You got to be an old craggy person to say its been dumbed down or to say "Cuz of Dayz the game is ruined". Get over yourself. Nearly every important aspect of Arma 3 is the same as its predecessors with improvements in areas that made sense. To cry because new players is coming in is stupid. They have just as much right to enjoy Arma, Dayz or Flying Purple Dragon mod as you do. By your words its like you think that since youve been around playing arma longer than lots of people you have some kind of privilege over them. You do not.
  2. Amazing, it worked. What should I add if I want to play even more sounds or music?
  3. Hello. I am running in dev mode. Basically i've followed all the instructions and can't get custom music working. I've tried about 3-4 different programs to convert the mp3 into an ogg file. I can play each one in VLC media player. I have them in the right folders. I have the description.ext file set up properly and re-read and re-checked it multiple times. Still, doesn't work. This custom music is integral to this part of the mission. Is it broken? The other question I had was how to set up trigger conditions to do the following: Player runs onto a road, places satchel charge, runs away. I need the trigger condition to activate when he places the satchel so that the convoy stationed down the road can begin moving, giving good timing for the player to run away, hide and detonate from a safe distance. I'm a scripting noob, usually just finding tutorials or already written pieces but I could not find anything for this. Its really frustrating and its almost got me to give up despite the progress so far.

Can play MP with Alpha Lite?

I did not know that. Even customers like us who paid for the whole game have boxes on the top right of every screen re-iterating alpha & bugs. If people cannot accept that, then tough!

Can play MP with Alpha Lite?

Um, excuse me, I'm a paying customer like anyone else. I'm not coming in here demanding anything in caps lock, I'm engaging in a dialogue between myself, the community & the developers. Whether the developers even read this is probably minimal, but I can try. This kind of customer feedback would be appreciated by any businessman interested in improving sales, customer relations etc. I think you need to examine what you wrote and maybe think about it for awhile.

Can play MP with Alpha Lite?

I did, and he is now taking my word for it. However he is the type that "must play it to make a true judgement". FYI, Most demos of older games had multiplayer support. I've played this series since I bought the pyshical box from a store to play OFP. I've bought nearly every installment since for the multiplayer. Let's face it, no one buys ArmA for the single player experience, it is for multiplayer. Since the game is infinitely funner and more interesting while playing multiplayer (and you keep the hacks out), I do not know why multiplayer isn't part of the Lite demo. Perhaps it can just be a timed thing, like 1 week to play. The issue isn't whether or not I read about it, or knew what Arma lite was going in. The point is I think it shouldn't be this way for said above reasons. It won't affect me anymore, however in the interest of promoting Arma 3 more, I think multiplayer in Lite invitations would boost sales. btw I work in the marketing industry

Can play MP with Alpha Lite?

I sent out my Alpha Lite invitation to one of my friends who happens to research & investigate whatever he purchases (aka not mindless consumer). I had spent the last few days making an Evolution style sandbox battle in the editor, to play with my friends whom have the game already. Much to my disappointment when my friend I gave Alpha Lite to finally downloaded, installed and found out Multiplayer isn't even available. I feel the showcases are not enough to give a person proper perspective on what ArmA is capable of. I knew when I got my friend into my sandbox map he could sample (the currently limited) selection of vehicles & weapons against enhanced AI (using Urban Patrol Script). I knew that one he got there he would be sold, and I'm willing to bet many others would be as well. I just came here to voice my disappointment, and request the alpha lite extend to some or all parts of the Alpha stage. Thank you.
  8. hello I know very little on how to construct scripts & commands from scratch. I'm using the Urban Patrol Script. Basically what I am doing is creating a mission for me and my friends to attack a town from a base. I already have a full ammo crate, player respawning & vehicle respawning set up. I also have a cleanup script that deletes dead bodies & vehicles every 90 seconds to reduce lag and improve performance. What I basically want to do is: -Spawn a few enemy squads when we enter a trigger -Have these spawned squads execute the Urban Patrol Script in their Init fields -Once these forces are defeated or get to a low number, a couple of KA-50 Blacks spawn with Squads in them, who also execute the Urban Patrol Script. These helicopters will be "reinforcements" and fly to the town, unload troops, then fly away out of sight and delete itself (to again save on performance/lag). any help would be appreciated. The goal is to be able to take the town, then repel X waves of reinforcements all using dynamic spawning so the framerates are good. as it stands now all of the AI start spawned, which is terribly inefficient. I hate inefficiency.
  9. I still want the button. It's about simplicity and user-friendliness. One of the sad things about Arma over the years is in order to get the maximum out of it, you have to spend hours installing addons, tweaking files & doing things 90% of gamers cannot fathom.
  10. You must select the squadmate(s) you wish, then point your crosshairs on an enemy man for example, then in the top left menu "Target" option will appear for what you are pointing at. In this case a man. You'd hit enter, or middle mouse, and you would order the selected squadmate(s) to target them. Then they could see the red box.
  11. Hello friends. I've been playing each iteration of this franchise since OFP. One of the "little details" that has always annoyed me the most, is having to constantly go into the options menu & invert my mouse Y axis when I'm right about to pilot a flying vehicle. Pulling your mouse towards you (down) is similar to pulling a helicopter flight stick towards you, which pitches the vehicle up and vice versa. In games that provide pilot-able vehicles such as BF3, a menu option like this has become standard much to my relief. In my decade + of gaming, I have always used inverted Y axis to fly. My suggestion as above is to simply add a "Invert Y Axis for Flight" button somewhere in the controls menu that makes sense! I look forward to continuing to provide useful feedback. Sometimes it's the small details that count! Wolffe
